I'm sure that I've mentioned it before but I have Lupus and am photo sensitive so this time of year is the most miserable time for me - added to which work is ridiculously busy and we're getting hammered on every shift. Bring on the autumn.....
Sounds horrendous, I hope we have a sudden change in weather with a cold snap for you

Oh and congrats brb

Good times all round then!

At least after the insanity temperature on Friday, it's been cool enough at night this week to sleep under the duvet again. I hate the urban humid heat in this country, it's different when you're on holiday and you've got coastal fresh air, sea and the swimming pool, etc.

I'm excited for another opening ceremony. I love Parade of Nations- they always make me emotional, even if it's somewhere like The Cayman Islands that I've absolutely no connection with. Who wouldn't want that moment of pure, bursting pride at carrying the flag?!

After a pretty shitty week for the world, it's nice to have something that brings us all together rather than drives us further apart. Good luck, Glasgow!

I obviously meant air conditioning. I really need to read posts before submitting. This is happening a lot lately

Really looking forward to this evening, glad to see the weather is good in Glasgow too! Cannot believe they are finally here, I remember the day of the announcement and telling my teacher at the start of the lesson that I will have my phone and radio on to here the announcement! Didn't give her much choice! And now they are here!!

And like 21CB yeah I agree it will be good to have something positive to focus on in this sad week for the world.

I'm heading up on Friday after work to see Rugby 7's, Squash, Badminton and Athletics (including the last night with all the relays!) Excited!

There was not nearly enough Amy Macdonald for my liking.

Could've done without all the Unicef plugging though. This isn't Children In Need. I suppose we should be grateful we didn't have David Tennant doing his "are you one of those people?" aggro spiel. Other than that it was pretty good.

I thought it was pitiful. It came across like it was put together in a matter of days.

I don't like those to either.. but the supporting cast were brilliant

That bit with Amy Macdonald starting the Rod Stewart song in George Square was fantastic.

There were a lot of great moments..

Hope everyone who is here for the Games is enjoying the beautiful weather..

Horrible news about yet another aviation incident. So many families must be going through such a terrible time.

Can't believe another plane is down

On a more brighter note I have to say Glasgow has really surprised me. I was a bit worried there would be a lack of interest but every venue is packed!! Helps that Svorland have got off to an awesome start.

And apparently the majority of victims were from France, two European tragedies in the space of one week. How tragically surreal.

Found out I vaguely know one of the Brit passengers on MH17- I share a few mutual friends with him on Facebook and stuff. He's still got an active JustGiving page which has seen a huge surge since last Thursday.

The new one is horrid, aswell. What a horrendous week for the aviation industry.
