Ooh, I forgot something else we always do on Christmas Eve

http://www.noradsanta.org/

And we end the day with me reading The Grinch Who Stole Christmas to LA in bed .... best times!
I just saw a tweet about that although I've never been to that site before. Exciting!

Never read The Grinch either.

I love that site!

It always makes me sad the closer he gets to us though- reminds me the build-up to Christmas is nearly over!
The build up is definitely the best part. Like so many things in life!

Santa is currently flying over Greece, I hope he gets them a kick-ass song for Christmas!

I got given a retro microphone for my laptop and I can't think of when I will ever use it, especially since this PC has an internal mic. It's a very early noughties gift.

Ooh no, I'm almost exactly 100 miles away, stuck in the rural countryside (the big bumpy bit on the right of the UK)
Is this your first time in UK? You seem to travel everywhere bar us
Ah...
Ive been to UK before.
1 week in 08
and 2.5 weeks back in 97...

And a weekend in 99...

Have just got back (very shaken) after driving in the car behind a driver that crashed into a kerb,, flew up in the air, landed on it's back and very, very nearly landed on a car travelling in the opposite direction.

It started smoking and everything- had to abandon the car and run the other way.

Frightening stuff- closest I've ever come to anything serious!

Did you not consider running to check they were ok?

The car was on fire and people were saying to get away from it- I was the one who contacted 999 and they said to stay away from the car for as long as it was smoking.

Thankfully the driver was okay (as in speaking etc) but it was a very close call for her, aswell as the cars around.

I'm glad I don't drive, don't think I'd ever want to.

I've had a very sweet cup of tea!

The poor man travelling in the other direction was a few inches away from the car landing on top of him.

I don't know whether the poor lady had an attack of something, fell asleep or whatever, but it was terrible to watch.

I know someone who was hit head in by a man who'd had a heart attack. Luckily he was ok but the old man was already dead.

glad everyone is well.. I don't drink but after an experience like that I don't blame you for having a few cups of tea.. I remember my brother telling me about how his car left the motorway turned over in in mid-air and landed upside down in a field.. he was the only person in the car and got out unscathed.. he was lucky.. the passenger seat next to him landed on top of a boulder..

God, it's stuff like that that can be really terrifying!

To top a really crappy day off, my trip to Denmark has been cancelled (although I got an email last week about that and didn't check!) due to a funding problem.

The only way is up, folks!

I know but I'm kinda glad in a way- I've got a bonus extra semester with my friends so I'm seeing it that way.

Looking at it, I may have struggled to make ends meet anyway. I'm still going to go for a weekend in Summer- I'm just disappointed Uni left it this way!

Happy New Year everyone.. Missing the traditional Scottish New Year we used to have.. Anyway my mind drifted watching the tedious fireworks and I recalled Francie and Josie.. So I looked up You Tube and within minutes found a show they did in the Kings Theatre in Glasgow.. Still funny after all these years..

Was at friends who lives round the corner from me and twice the fire brigade came for the same car both times just slightly down the road from her house. First time there was a few people standing across the road laughing and there was nothing up with the car, 2nd time just now the car was a blaze I bet those people had something to do with it, don't think anyone was injured fortunately. I do love a good nose though and as soon as I see blue flashing lights on the window I have to go look.
