I assume they didn't teach after this event took place
Nope but we had to find out via the local rag not the school

I managed to get through school without being bullied. I mostly made myself as invisible as possible. I was a quiet kid so it wasn't hard. Made sure I was friends with the nicer, popular kids. I was smart enough to get by but made sure I didn't raise my hand in class, did my homework in form the day it was due etc.

Most 'exotic' school trip we had was a year 7 day trip to Boulogne. Worst trip was in primary school where we visited Minworth Sewage Works.

More psychotic than bullying but I remember we had a new girl join our primary class and she was a wild one. She put her knickers in the toilet and blamed one of the boys in our class. She didn't last long.

I hate my flatmates boyfriend WHO IS LIVING HERE ILLEGALLY! He had the audacity to tell us to keep it down when he is paying zero pounds to live here. Going to get him back big style by reporting his fraudaulent behaviour to the council tomorrow. Hope they make the bastard homeless.

Good luck

Kids get to go on such fun school trips now. When I was at school, we once went on a trip to the local Morrisons.
Hahaha, we did that at primary school too! North Road branch by any chance?

That was basically my survival technique too. Watched too many American teen TV shows as a kid so was obsessed with 'fitting in' and not drawing attention to myself, sigh!

We never got to go on any foreign school trips though - the half of the year that studied French got to go to France, but we never got to go to Spain Then again, it would've been a stupidly long coach trip, so maybe it was for the best! Oh, and there was a skiing trip in winter, but that was our version of only the wealthy kids being able to go away...

These expensive long-haul trips sound insane though - how do the parents afford them?!

I've never been on a residential trip. I had no friends at primary school so I didn't go on the year 6 trip (which was residential), and since then I've never liked the idea of them. I didn't go on the year 12 Biology coursework residential, either. I manage to complete the coursework in school (it was only essential for the Geography lot to go, but there was only one other person who did Biology who stayed at school).

I value my privacy too much to be able to share a room.

Was this a Catholic school by any chance?

Dork

The head boy (appointed at Easter) had to be replaced because he broke his leg and consequentially failed year 12.

Anything longer than a day or further afield than France and I doubt I would have been able to go!

We never had chance to do Spanish at all at my school. It was French in year 7+8 and then if you were good enough at French by the end of 8 you did German as well and then when it came to options you had to choose at least one language and if you wanted to do both you had to sacrifice something from the History/Geography block or the humanities block.

What I hated most about school was the expectation that I had to be there 5 days a week.

...

Annoying women on the bus deciding that it was okay for people to be gay because "they're alright". Three people that one of them knew had "admitted" they were gay. Admitted?!!

I was mostly annoyed because their inane chatter was distracting me from my book (appropriately, Clare Balding's!) "I went out with a few more boys, because that's what I thought I was meant to do, taking them out like books from the library and returning them when I didn't get into the story. It was another few years before I realized I'd been looking in the wrong section of the library." Aw.

Clare Balding is great and not just for the fact she is a Eurovision fan.

Gay people are alive, the legend has to survive.

Had a thrilling Eurovision moment whilst on a course at work today where we had to figure out what the most viewed YouTube video was on the BBC's account. Happily Satellite was the second most watched and resulted in a spectacular moment of Lena blasting over the speakers whilst everyone commented with: "oh she's cute", "this shouldn't have won" and "what is this?"

Actually there was one hell of a lot of ESC 2010 clips on their most watched list!

Seriously? I think she may have just edged out Sue Perkins in my league of lesbians.

Yes, she's talked about it on twitter a few times. Around the time of the grand national she was tweeting about having a conversation with somebody about the amazingness of Eurovision.

Remind me never to drive fast again! Just been given a $500 fine for doing 76 in a 60kph zone.....by a ****ing speed camera.

My landlord got one for $700 for doing 30 in a 25kph zone last week.

The Aussie road fine system is insane!

I remember she was on Have I Got News For You just after 2008 and they had a story on us coming last and her saying she likes to bet on it whilst watching, she did say who she bet on I think but I can't remember who.

Totally random, but everytime I see the video for Avicii's "Silhouettes", I think of Foxy.
