I've got my own bun in the oven - well, I say bun, it's a 12 inch square chocolate cake, to be adorned tomorrow with chocolate ganache and sugar paste photos of the kids who are leaving the village primary school this year (including Little Anzej, there's only 7 of them!)

My contribution to the leavers party tomorrow night

Oh that sounds lovely Anne! I never knew what Ganache was until they were obsessed with it on the GBBO!

Must feel weird knowing he is heading up to big school after summer! Makes you feel old I'm sure! :P

As much as I love the weather we've been having, I do love a good storm. Went out to the car and nearly shat myself at the thunder

So relaxing

It does nick He's so excited though, as he's a bit of a genius, he kind of needs the push that a decent high school will give him

I wish we had the storms! Air needs freshening up badly!

Wish we had thunder storms in Brighton! It's quite overcast, with sea fog, which just makes it even more humid

Had an awful experience today, I've been in London in order the attend an appointment at my clinic and they told me that they need a blood sample from me for testing, I've never had one done before and I'm very squeamish so I was a little nervous but I felt ok about doing it.

So I went to Charing Cross Hospital and waited to be called, when I went in the nurse sat me down and stuck the needle into my forearm just below my elbow, I had to look away and suddenly I came over all queasy. The nurse told me it was all done and I could go. As I made my way towards the main exit I felt like my brain was turning numb and my vision was getting blurry, then all of a sudden I fell to my knees and passed out. Everything was black and I saw a lot of bright colourful lights, like fireworks and felt like I was dreaming. I woke up slumped in a chair surrounded by doctors and a couple of good samaritans who came to help. I was so dazed and listless that one woman had to feed me water by dipping her fingers in it and putting them in my mouth!

I've never fainted before so it was a horrible experience I thought it was just like falling asleep but far from it, I felt like I couldn't breathe and my left shoulder and knees were bruised from where I had hit the floor. I'm ok now but my goodness that was utterly terrifying.

Oh god hope your ok now.

Strange I first fainted a few months ago and when I came round strangely felt really relaxed!

Also sister use to 'work' at charing Cross as a medical student. Might of had a few final year students helping you out as they only started yesterday.

N'aww thanks for your concern.

I was so confused when I regained consciousness, I was wondering where I was and what just happened to me, it felt like I was out for hours but it was only a couple of minutes. I was told that when I was out cold I was very heavy, how rude!

After all the storm talk, here's the rangers team in training today when thunder and lightning strikes.

No wonder they shat themselves!!! Some even covered their heads as if it was a bomb(does found like it to be fair).

This I'd like to see

Then Lizzie please!!!

Loving the weather in Glasgow at the moment. Torrential rain, lightning all around us and scarily loud thunder. It's great

I got a phone call from my Mum this afternoon telling me that Maddie, our wonderful chocolate Labrador had to be put to sleep this morning. She'd been diagnosed with diabetes in January and had to have 2 daily injections, she eventually lost her sight and last night she suffered a seizure. At least she is at peace now, I've been sobbing all night.
