I cannot abide Doctor Who but I might just tune in with him in the role, he is brilliant.

It will be nice to finally have an older Doctor. Not surprised at the reveal as he was the bookies favourite after all!

Not really sure what the problem is with young Doctors. Eccleston, Tennant and Smith have all been fantastic.

I agree they have been fantastic, but we needed a change of direction after two young + quirky doctors in a row, and Peter Capaldi will be the right person to bring a certain level of experience to the role that the previous 2 couldn't.

Personally I think they should have gone totally left-field...what about Whoopi Goldberg?

Anyone watching Southcliffe?

It's a perfect replacement for The Returned in the "moody Sunday night drama" stakes.

Ooh, black and female? I like it!
Although it would send the internet into a complete meltdown after all the DW fans rush to vent their anger

It's a bit disjointed, isn't it?

I'm watching for Rory Kinnear. It's a bit like an even darker Broadchurch at the moment.

I missed it, remind me to catch up at 10!
I'm expecting something so dark I'll be clinically depressed by the end of the first episode.

Two ad breaks inside 25 minutes is a bit as well!

I liked the first half, the second half got dead pretentious.

I'll watch tomorrow, but I'll make sure to have some Prozac lined up for afters.

The "golden shower" bit was rough, and it just got grimmer from there on in.

Was there any need to kill the dog?!

I didn't get why he killed the dog either, not exactly going to give evidence is it?

I wonder if it will be darker than Utopia, even that involved a school shooting but atleast that series had it's quirks.

Yeah- it was just grim!

The journalist guy (was it his flashback when the kids were picking on the little boy) is the son (in real life) of the guy that played Veruca Salt's dad in Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory. For some reason that really made me smile!

I thought the name rang a few bells, he died falling off a horse whilst filming.

Incidentally, in the 2005 remake the role of Veruca Salt's dad was played by James Fox (Not that James Fox) who stars in Utopia which I mentioned above.

I loved the new Veruca's dad!

Yeah he did, poor guy- whilst filming Three Musketeers

And new Doctor Peter Capaldi is currently filming an adaptation of The Three Musketeers!

Who said this thread can't do cycles?!
