Seems like a way to ease you back in! The schools in my area (well...my home area) went back on Tuesday and the teachers only had Monday as in inservice to get ready!

Glasgow seem to have it easy!

I'd just been watching her medal ceremony and getting a bit emotional when that was reported on the BBC coverage. She could use her popularity to swing opinion the other way, especially with the momentum she has right now, and yet she goes and makes that sort of comment.

Russia is such a fascinating country, but not somewhere I particularly want to visit right now.

Yeah, I've never been a fan of her anyway but after this I'll be taking every opportunity I can get to root for her opponents.

I'll be rooting for her pole to snap in half the next time I see her. A bang on the head might knock some sense into her after those comments

Happy birthday Brummy!!!!!
Thanks Jacob. I haven't done much with it but I did have a lie in, tea and toast and a shopping trip so can't complain really...should really make the most of this last year in my twenties though.

As for Russia, stating the obvious but it makes me sad. Especially as Putin's always struck me as the camp side of butch.

Happy birthday Brummy! 29 eh, still a baby.

This Russian stuff is really bothering me. Loved the photo recently though of Tilda Swinton and the rainbow flag outside The Kremlin.

I know! (And thanks!) I've been saying for a while, "I'm 30 next year" to prepare myself!

Thanks Paul. I'd say I'm comfortably between the first nappy stage and the inevitable decline back into them!

I like that photo too but I didn't realise the importance behind it when I first saw it. Good old Tilda, "let your freak flag fly!"

Did anyone watch Crazy About One Direction?

It was genuinely terrifying but absolutely hilarious at the same time. I know I won't have made it until a 13 year old girl has threatened to have me assassinated for criticising Harry Styles

BIB is so true.

I love her as an athlete and she always seemed so sweet, but this made me lose some respect for her.

I know she was involved with Sochi Olympics, so maybe this was the only thing she *could* say?

As much as I strongly disagree with Isinbayeva, that is her opinion and she is very much entitled to it, unfortunately.

And now the inevitable "woe is me, I was misunderstood" backtracking from her. Who bet on two days?
