New Season Verdicts
Thought we should have a thread to discuss all the new season shows rather than create separate ones for each show. This way you can see the general consensus and which network has the best new shows.
So far I've seen Go On and The Mindy Project, tbh I was expecting to hate The Mindy Project but it turned out to be quite fun. |

Elementary and Last Resort weren't even on yet. Both premier in two weeks time. Where did you get hold of the pilots? Only saw trailers so far.
So far I watched "Go On" (mmh...a bit predictable and 'blah') and "The New Normal" (not sure yet. Might have some promise...and will give it a go for a few episodes). Have recorded "Revolution" and will check it out later today. |

Ah...the nasty download business. Tut, tut, tut
Can't be bothered with that when I'm honest. I'll watch it in two weeks |

Access it either via DirecTV Everywhere or my slingbox. Doesn't matter where you are.

I thought one had to have an official residence in another country, one's own address, to use the whole slingbox thing. What exactly is the set up that allows you to do what you do?

I have my own address. Doesn't mean that I have to be there full time

So you have your own address in the US, but you say you don't have your own "place" in the US. Since I am assuming you can't use the slingbox if your address is just a post office box, your address must be to "somebody else's place." Which brings us full circle, to your saying you "can't be bothered with downloads when I'm honest." I am not throwing stones here, but it doesn't sound like you are being any more honest than those of us who download.

I beg to differ. My address is at a relative's house to which a lot of stuff is registered (incl bank account etc). My setup is my own and i pay for my subscription. And when I say "can't be bothered to download" I mean it's too much work. Much more convenient to have my own DVR.
Besides, as we all know placeshifting is perfectly legal and acceptable as long as you pay for your subscription and that said sub is an official one at your own address. And can we now get back to topic please? |

I see now that "when I'm honest" meant that you were speaking frankly.Misunderstanding cleared up. No hard feelings on my part.

I checked out a few these new shows late last night. I'm not really into comedy but i found them all surprisingly refreshing and comical. I especially liked The Mindy Project and Ben & Kate. I also watched the first episode of The New Normal, i'm not sure if i will continue with it yet.

I thought the first episode of The New Normal was pretty good, but the second episode left a little more to be desired, it just didnt 'pop' for me.

Watched the Mindy project, Ben & Kate, Go On and New Normal...was expecting it all to be rubbish but they are all not as bad as initially thought they would be...Mindy project has the most potential out of the lot though...

Really enjoyed The New Normal, will definitley be sticking with the whole season. And very good starts from Go On and The Mindy Project as well. Guys With Kids was very average, didn't make me laugh, but wasn't awful.

The Mindy Project - Alright but not my thing
Animal Project - SHIT! Waste of half an hour, I'd rather teleshopping... Go On - Good The New Normal - Loved It Revolution - Alright but too close to Terra Nova |

I've just seen the pilot of Last Resort. The premise is silly and I'm sure it's going to be cancelled but I have a feeling that this is going to be this year's The Event or Flashforward: stupid but worth watching for it's stupidness. Plus it has Dichen Lachman, so that's reason enough to keep watching.
