why why why
why does the x factor insist on constantly having sub stories of contestants having a crush on totally in love with each of the judges its all we hear about, they come out and its to everyones great amusment then surprise surprise one of the other judges cajoles the contestant into giving their idol judge a kiss or a hug, it was funny first time, now its just another part of the x factor formula, when people were coming out and saying they fancied tulisa I knew it was set up, they even have to drag louis into it and hes gay, doesnt stop the producers giving him his turn .........BORING

Louis fans have appeared for years - Vickee and her 'Mad About Louis Club', with (at the time) 48 members.
(I believe she was a poster on here). Then one called Shirley, who brought him a rose - finally Beulah, and Simon gave her Louis phone number

Just to be picky, these cases with the contestants gushing over a judge aren't sob stories. The sob stories are the ones like "I'm doing this for my dead grandma", "I was homeless" or "I was a bad boy but I turned my life around". They're used to evoke emotion in the judges and audience which clouds their judgement of what is often an average audition. Having said that, these "I love [judge]" tales do have the same intent, with the expectation that the judge concerned will favour the contestant after their gushing. Well, I've certainly never wept over some middle-aged woman finally getting to meet "lovely Louis"! ![]() Quote:

because there are actually people who have celebrity crushes?!

is it to be famous in memory of their dead relative or be succesful for them ? do people go on big brother to get in the limelight for their grannie? people have sad things happen to them all the time its called life, one of the funny ones was the guy who was their saying his parents who had split up were there together for the first time to support him and basically saying x factor was the reason for this joyous occasion they had been seperated for 22 years for gods sake and remarried to new partners - WHO CARES!! just sing your song if your good you go through if your bad- goodbuy try again next year do all people in the music business do it for a dead relative ? |

The PO said sub stories, not sob stories. Don't know why it needs either tbh.

to be fair to the contestants, some sob stories must 've started as little tidbits in their history that the producers flagged, highlighted, underlined and magnified for more drama.

I still dont get peoples problem with sob stories. Its a way for us to just get to know a singer, and connect with them. We know the history's of most pop stars of today, this is no different, at least they get to say it, and not the media.
But yeah, its annoying now with auditionees loving a judge. Although Tulisha's love last weekend was pretty enjoyable!!! |
