does anyone know please if you can search a page for a word. I have the original iPad 1 and can't figure out how to do it.

I am sure you are aware that the email software has a search box, and of course so does the browser. Si you might mean the book reader or the magazine stand.

I do not think that they have search facilities, at least I have been unable to find one. I need one for the manual and find it quicker to look things up on my PC.

It would have been sensible for them to provide an index.

While we're slagging them off, I will add something. If you touch a word, and hold it for a second or two, it will be highlighted and some options come up, including a search option telling you page numbers. Also definition and other things. That might be useful.

Yes, thanks!!

It is possible I have found out to search but only from 4.2 OS and up, I am only on the 3.2.2

Apparently you put the word in the bar to the right of the URL bar and after all the google suggestions on the end of the list is an option to find on the page. This is for safari btw.

The search box is on the top right of the keyboard pop-up.

Why don't you update the iOS?
