Wasn't the 64GB 4S £699?

Complete rip off for a phone, you can get a high spec laptop or pc for that price

s3 will kill the iphone 5. Epic fail on apples part. They should have designed a new phone. This should have been the iphone 4S and the iPhone 4S should have been the iPhone 4.

So you choose the most expensive model to try to make a point

It's a good point though isn't it

I actually chose that because 16gb without sd support a waste of time with today's apps 6 or 7 big games and your done.

Whilst the 4s was £699 you could get away with less memory a year ago and go for the cheaper model.

Is that a direct comparison to the $399 US price? Why such a disparity for the UK?

but isnt that the problem now for apple, there are so many android devices of different styles from manufactures on the market apple would of had to pull something really unique looking out the bag, but they just stuck with an enlarged 4 , because where else can they go looks wise?

Because the US price is based on a 2 year contract.

US prices are also before tax. Usually it's only seven or eight percent but still.

You can buy a 64Gb SD card for £40 for the Galaxy S3 or many other phones.

If you buy an iPhone don't complain about the price just lie back and think of Apples huge profits

No its not really.
Because if you look at the cheaper version, you then are not much more expensive than what other high end smartphone cost.

I disagree. I have a tonne of stuff on my 16GB iPhone 4. More than enough space.

The US price is the on contract price. The UK prices quoted here are sim free (so no contract).

And i disagree with you.

I ran out of space on my 16gb iphone 4S a ton of times between music, films and games.

In this day, its not more than enough, and it would have been nice to spend £15 on another 16gb rather than apples £100 per 16gb at the time.

Even still, a Galaxy S3 with a 64gb card weighs in several hundred pounds cheaper and then has more space!

But you are purposely choosing the most expensive model!

Thats like looking at the cost of cars from say Ford, totally ignoring the cheaper cars, and then going "OMG look at the price of that - just for a car!". If the cheapest iPhone was that I would agree with you. But its not.

You may realise the iPhone isn't the only phone where you cannot expand the storage. At least you have the option of buying a higher capacity device. You don't have that with say the HTC One X.

Cheaper version as I said only 16gb waste of time, if you want to compare like for like the 16gb S3 is £130 cheaper. It is also debatable whether the i5 could be put in the same category as the other high end smartphones but nowhere near same price.

Again 16gb is not enough on top phones capable of high res video, games, pics etc.

Finally a little confused are you?

For what we have just seen announced £529 should be the maximum cost of the 64gb version.

Its not the same though. The phone is identical apart from the storage.

£529 16b
£629 32gb
£729 64gb

Like i said, a galaxy S3 with a 64gb card takes it up to 80gb and costs several hundred pounds less.

Apple have always overcharged for storage.
