Anyone else thinking Lisa might actually turn out to be the star of the show and be a big surprise to everyone ad show she is a good dancer, I do!

I think she's going to be better than alot of people think. How good i don't know but she's certainly going to be fun.

I agree. She is, ahem, larger than the average contestant, but that doesn't mean she can't cut a rug with the best of them. I think (and hope) that she might surprise a lot of people and I certainly wouldn't write her off as the comedy contestant at this early stage.

I think in any other year, she may have gone a long way, but this year there are a lot with already large fanbases such as Louis, Victoria or Nicky or people who've been to stage school and can dance, Denise, Dani and Kimberly.

I think there's a lot of crossover too, those that can dance have large fanbases and those with large fanbases may be really good dancers.

I think she can be someone with the dreaded J word, but I just don't know if she'll get the chance.

I also don't see a comedy dancer there and I think they all have the potential to be really good dancers, you just have to survive long enough to grow.

I think she will be surprisingly good

I am certainly not writing ANYONE off until I have actually seen them dance!

Absolutely, olive! I made that mistake last year when I confidently predicted that Chelsee would be the first to leave. That was based purely on my reaction to her 'I'm single and ready to mingle!' comment at the launch show, which I didn't think would go down well with the GBP. I forgot to take into account her ability to dance...

I'm a big girl myself before anyone judges me! But... will she be able to do lifts? I know apart from AS there isn't many (or shouldn't be! ) but they are very crowd-pleasing. I just wonder if this will hamper her impact?

The dances you can do lifts in are American Smooth, Argentine Tango, Charleston, Salsa and of course the Showdance.

Although it's worth noting that all lifts are completely optional - it would be possible to go through the entire competition without lifting your partner once.

I suppose, but like I say, they are very crowd pleasing - there'd be some viewers who'd find a dance devoid of lifts 'dull', particularly if everyone else was doing them.

As is usual she's been added to create a bit of variety and a talking point. There's always one chosen every year.

It might be interesting to do a poll and see how popular lifts actually are.

I'd be quite happy for lifts to be used very sparingly because, very often, the transitions into and out of the lifts look clunky and awkward. Lifts get shoe-horned in to give the dance wow factor but if the celeb doesn't have enough ability, a bad lift actualy spoils what would otherwise be a reasonably good dance. I'd much rather see a smooth, technically good and emotionally touching dance with no lifts, than a tense clunky dance with bad lifts.

After last weeks dance she seemed to get catapolted to potential favourite (by some media gushing).

Yes. Every year we have one but the really amazing thing is that this year the 'comedy act' is fun and actually good!

I'm really looking forward to seeing her tonight. I think she can pull it off again and is very talented.

Robin has said he can lift anyone, and I'm sure Lisa is agile enough to be lifted.

Apart from that she'll be bound to lose a lot of weight in training - apparently she's already lost over a stone. Don't know if that's a good thing though. She's been a large lady for a very long time and obviously has a lot of energy. I'm worried that she'll lose some of that energy as she's loses weight which could affect her performance.

She's a great advert for the larger lady so far.

I think so I love her personality and I'm not tiny or small (14/16) so shes inspiring me to get moving more if she can do it etc.

Its good to have an inspiration to help achieve your goals, Lisa' personality is very warm and bubbly and I think the audience and viewers like that.

I agree Lisa is very down to earth, I'm sure viewers will find that to be a very endearing quality, I can't wait for the fun filled evening Lisa and Robin are going to give us tonight hopefully.

I think Lisa is great but I never doubted she could dance.
No way would she have been asked on the programme if she couldn't dance.
They would not have humiliated an overweight young lady in the same way as Widdie.

Like a lot of larger ladies Lisa is very light on her feet. She doesn't fit the brief of a slim, dainty winner but as long as she can dance I'll cheer her on, its the Widdies of this world that annoy me. Go Lisa

Apropos of nothing... Widdie is what I called wee when I was three [as in 'doing a widdie']. Delighted the word has found a good and appropriate use here
