I really admire acts who do West End after X Factor
I really do admire act's who don't crack it into the music industry out of the show but still work hard and carve a career for themselves. It's hard work in West end - it's like 2 shows every single day.
Diana Vickers did really well, and Niki Evans from 2007 is now a West End Superstar, both recieved rave reviews. I went to see Niki in Blood Brothers and it's the first time any sort of play has ever made me cry. Her role as Mrs Johnstone is incredible. Have any of you ever saw any contestants shows in West End after X Factor? |

Seen Ray Quinn, Cassie Compton and Niki all in very good musicals. Seriously if you get the chance go and see her in blood brothers. Seriously she was stunning in that musical!

I know it's not XF, but I saw Will Young in Cabaret last week and he was ridiculously amazing. I love musicals, and genuinely think more pop singers should consider theatre as a career path if they're serious about making it work.

I do too. I think it's disgusting the way that the show has made it that being suited for the West End is seen as an insult. I'd be overjoyed if someone told me I was good enough to be in a West End show.
Frankly, I'd rather have a lengthy career on the West End, performing to packed houses every night than a career that consists of a semi-successful album and then a fade into obscurity once the next batch of contestants come along. |

I saw Jamie Fox (from Fame Academy) in Chess a couple of years ago. He was great.
I also saw Will last Saturday in Cabaret. Absolutely brilliant! |

What about Lucie Jones from 2009? She's totally sunk into oblivion in recent years but not forgetting she did have brief but successful stint in Les Miserables.

They were both good I thought. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-19150890 It goes on tour but having seen it on a smaller stage a West End theatre is definitely the best place for it... Sounds like Willy Russell is going to make a film out of it though (I read it in the programme). Not sure how it would work because watching the adults playing the ("I'm nearly 8") kids growing up is a key part of what makes the show so entertaining and I doubt that's what they'd do with a movie!Going back on topic we went to see Chicago hoping to see Brenda Edwards some years ago, but it was someone else on that night and you could clearly hear the disappointment in the audience when her replacement first appeared as Mama Morton. We felt bad for the actress - she did well - but there's noone quite like Brenda! |

I heard Lucie was great! I completely agree - X Factor and the Media make out that West End is the worst in the world. I loved Niki on X Factor, I thought she had a fantastic voice but when I seen her in Blood Brother I was just in awe of her. I didn't know she could act like she could.
I recon Leanne Mitchell from the Voice will end up in West End. |

Is Will Young the only one branching out into Musical theatre off the back of a continuing successful career as a recording artist?
Darius did Gone with the Wind, and got good reviews for his performance, although the show itself was a flop. |

I've seen quite a few people in the past ridicule artists who go on to do West End because they're recording careers were unsuccessful, but I have no idea why. It's a lot of hard work getting up there day after day and performing live, a lot of pressure too I imagine. I admire anyone who gets up off their backsides and tries to make a decent living.

Yes I agree some of the singers on XFactor should consider a career on stage compared to being classed as a pop singer.
Rydian and Joe McElderry voices are more suited to West End shows while Matt Cardle wouldn't. I think the same goes for Olly Murs as well even though he was the best entertainer the show has produced. Loved Niki Evans a few years back she had some voice then and I would imagine she would go down a storm in a musical such as Blood Brothers |

Probably but what worries me is he'll enjoy it so much he won't go back to making albums. Which after Echoes would be a huge shame. |
