Who do you think was the best singer for Iron Maiden, Paul DiAnno or Bruce Dickinson.

Personally I like them both equally. I suppose it depends where you became a Maiden fan. A lot of people started at The Number of the Beast which was Bruces first album. However the first two Iron Maiden and Killers are both excellent albums and are better than some of the Mid Period Dickinson albums and deffinatly those two done with Blaze Bailey.

Bruce because of Alexander The Great & Wasted Years...also because Bruce's stage presence was revolutionary that it helped Maiden win so many fans..not sure if that would have happened with Di-Anno.

While I like their first two albums I think Bruce blows Paul away vocally.

Well, I have never seen DiAnno on stage but Dickinson on stage is frickin brilliant, even now, 30 odd years down the line.

Bruce, no contest at all.

Always thought Maiden's material with Paul and Blaze was painfully average. Bruce tries his best to save it live and does a decent job, but there's a reason "Running Free", "Wrath-Child" and "Iron Maiden" are the only non-Bruce songs they play live on a semi-regular basis.

Bruce just gives them that theatricality that is their trademark. No disrespect to the other guys as vocalists or performers, but Bruce just has "it". Truly one of a kind.

I agree. Having seen Iron Maiden live, Bruce's vocals and stage presence is immense.

Bruce for me. I did enjoy Killers but thought that they wouldn't have been able to become as big as they did with Paul.

I've seen pretty much every Maiden tour since Killers, and I first saw Bruce when he was in Samson, and I would say they wouldn't have achieved the global success they have without Bruce.

I actually like both Paul Di'Anno and Blaze Bayley, but Bruce Dickinson is the definitive Iron Maiden singer and easily my favourite of the three. Aside from being a better vocalist, most of the band's best work was released with Bruce on vocals.

One thing I will say though, is that Di'Anno sings the Di'Anno-era stuff better than Bruce does, in my opinion. Songs like 'Iron Maiden' and 'Wrathchild' just don't sound quite right with Bruce Dickinson singing.
