I agree. I've not known of any child, famous or not, who is carried around like Suri is. It's very bizarre, and surely unhealthy for both mother and child.

I do vaguely remember reading there was a rumor that Suri had a medical condition of some kind which could explain the carrying...has anyone read similar, or have I just made this up?

I'm sorry that is so funny I nearly wet myself. Whoever did that at the mail is a genius.

No, it's because of the paparazzi crushing round them I've seem loads of celebrities criticised for the same including Brad and Ange and Derek and Skeletor.

I do feel for Suri in that she is obviously scared of them, but other celebrity children seem to still be able to walk? What will happen when the poor girl is just too big to be carried?

It's not often you see the Mail described as genius on here but in this case it's entirely justified

Put her in a pram. They probably won't take pictures of that.

The amount of people who obsess over Suri Cruise and how she's parented is laughable.

I don't read any print media, so all I know is what's posted on here. The press obsession with her is creepy as hell. Poor kid.

Some of the videos of the paparazzi chasing after Suri and (usually) Katie are terrible. I'm not surprised that they carry her everywhere when faced with that.

The DM is also obsessed with hosiery.

Look at the stories and they are bringing your attention to the tights they are wearing.

Someone at the DM has a fetish for tights.

For the duration of his career, Tom Cruise has suffered from a most bizarre campaign against him

An attempt to push him INTO the closet.....then force him back OUT

I'm sorry to be brutal, and I do think Katie was right to get Suri out of the clutches of Scientology, but she (and, by extension Tom - but mostly Katie as she has primary custody) could halt the media intrusion by taking out a court order insisting that Suri's face is always pixellated or not shown in any pap pictures. Other celebrities manage it - indeed, Tom (and I can't believe I'm defending him) managed it with the older children.

So is it Katie who is desperate to keep herself in the press by using Suri? She could stop the pictures being worth anything in an instant, but she refuses to do so? If that's the case then I don't understand that. At all.

It's a good point raised that other celebs manage to keep their kids faces from getting in the paper. Johnny Depp and J.K Rowling are two prime examples.

was a funny old article, still gets me now and none of the DM readers seem to have picked up on it either-judging by comments, too busy whittering on about Suri looking scruffy and unkempt and 'how they'd be ashamed if that was their child'. oh and the whole carrying thing
they have all missed the golden sentence in the whole article
