Back in the mid to late 70’s they used to play a song on Radio 2 in the mornings – Terry Wogan show or the show after it most likely...

It was an up-tempo, bouncy, fairly fast Celtic / Irish / folky song...male vocals....Dubliners-esque.....

Not got much in the way of lyrics, but I distinctly(ish) recall the last line of one of the verses was “then it’s time they changed the rules”........

As for the chorus, even less to go on, best I can muster is......

Oooh ayyy do-do-do-do-do
He/ we won’t be there to do-do-do-do-do
And it’s do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do

(The do-do-do’s representing the words I can’t recall)

Any help would be greatly appreciated........I know it’s not the most to go on, and lyric searches don’t assist...........

Band`s possibly `Planxty`,they`re 70s,supposed to have revolutionised Irish folk (i.e. faster) and had one or two Dubliners in it,I think. I don`t know the song,so maybe getting some their albums,samples,etc may help.

Thanks for replying, I'll check them out....however it seems they didn't release a single between 1972 and 1981 so it appears a little unlikely they'd have received radio 2 airplay in the mornings, especially as they didn't have any hits by the looks of it. As I say, I will YT etc some of their stuff though, y'never know your luck
