ADELE - Skyfall (James Bond theme) (new single)

Confirmed: Adele All Set for James Bond “Skyfall” Song

Exclusive: I think I can confirm for you what I said some months ago–Adele is performing the theme song for “Skyfall,” the 23rd James Bond movie. As far as I know the song is called “Skyfall.” I think if anyone else had sung the theme song this year it wouldn’t have made sense. Adele’s sound is the quintessential James Bond sound. She joins Shirley Bassey, Paul McCartney, Carly Simon, Rita Coolidge, John Barry, Duran Duran and others on the long list of pop stars who’ve immortalized James Bond in song.

“Skyfall” will be Adele’s first new single since her album “21″ sold 7 billion copies in 13 different galaxies. The movie opens in London the last week of October, right when Adele will give birth to a baby, as well. The good news is, this should be an actual song with a melody and a hook, unlike recent tortures. More to come on this breaking news…

Noooo, I wanted Lana for this. Her sound is more suited to James Bond than Adele.

No, Lana is crap and sounds bored all the time. Adele's not great but she's a better choice.

Cross that Lana wasn't chosen. Big missed opportunity.

If she gets second album there may be time then Adele is the ovbious choice biggest British female of the moment Bond too is iconic and British all ties in together and Adele's voice and sound fit.

I suppose. With Lana's fanbase, she isn't going anywhere. There will always be other chances

Ace! So If the lyrics tie into the plot of the movie, Skyfall will be code for getting dumped and perhaps stalking your ex, all done in the dullest possible way.

I can't really lose as i love them both. This was always Adele's gig as long as she wanted to do it. Fine with me, she'll do a fantastic job I'm sure. Lana's time will come in the future I'm sure as she is completely suited to a Bond theme.

Adele could do a good job but it depends on the song. I don't know who's writing it but it doesn't really matter who you get to sing it if the song isn't very memorable as recent efforts have shown.

I think Adele was always going to be the first choice. Although I would've loved to hear Lana do it. In my opinion her music feels more cinematic than Adele's.

If she made the job, than it's with Paul Epworth, so RITD or Ceremonials vibe.

Why Ceremonials vibe that was Florence's album and had nothing in common with Adele's 21.

She will more than likely co-write im thinking either dark and brooding or old schooly Bassey style song.

Yes but paul has worked with many people and Florence's sound couldn't be more far removed from Adele's it'd be an odd combo and especially for a bond song i think dark and brooding in a Goldfinger way

I can't disagree there. Lana has a very Lynchian quality to her music/delivery.

I'm sure her time will come, the amazing Adele deserves this one.

Forget about Lana, it should've been Leona.

I'd have preferred Lana or Leona, but Adele is still good. But I always feel like it's just jumping on the Adele bandwagon because of all the success she had with 21. I feel like if 21 had sold around 7/8 million worldwide, there wouldn't be such a fuss of everybody wanting to work with her.

Fk it, i'm singing it instead

I'd say Amy would have been high up in the ranks for singing it, but with the Adele-mania it probably would have pipped her. I'd love to see a Lana or Leona theme for Bond. Part of me thinks Lana has the image and voice for a bond song, but she may not stick around with music
