Glad to see Ian back on the Strictly dance floor where he belongs, why oh why did he get dropped,
Like the pairings this year, although I think that Erin & Christina were the wrong way round, who decided those height pairings would work.
Don't think there are any really terrible dancers this year, okay so Johnny Ball dances like your grandad, but give him a break he is 74!
Can't wait for the start of the new season

I've never liked Brucie - he always struck me as a creepy old prima dona. That said Vernon Kay would be worse as would Ronnie Corbett. Alun Armstrong is an interesting suggestion for SCD - don't think he's quite glam enough but I've heard worse suggestions. That said I have to record the show as it conicides with my little girl's bathtime so I just fast wind through most his bits - that said the 'new face - Craig's had work done was funny.

1) Most of pairings were right - only doubtful one was Colin/Kristina but it was probably fairer than the viable alternatives - hubbie didn't think it was a great match but then again Kris had comedy contestant before with the Sarge - Erin hasn't Ricky Groves turned into that but it wasn't set up that way from the start. I'm glad Brendan's got someone who's got a chance after what he had to put up with last year and his first sportswoman in ten competitions - should be interesting.

2)Agree about Craig - usually a fan but he shouldn't be being rude about the large lady (as I am one myself) and much as he's limited his joke about Anton struck me as slightly spiteful. (I think out of all the partnerships he could have had Jerry was probably the best one - I don't think her latin would have been much cop anyway so he's not wrecking her chances on that score - and it breaks the stereotype of his usual partnerships. I think she will be the glamourous older woman type that Nancy promised to be.

3) Agree about Ian Waite - why was he dropped and why isn't he back to partner Jerry Hall?

4) Group celeb dance actually not a bit of dog's breakfast like previous ones and no silly pros skulting across the floor so they're with their celebs partners - hats off to however chereographed that.

5)Most people seem to out to do their best - i.e no bloody Widdys - this bodes well.

Let battle commence

1. Lovely dance from Ian & Darcey, but American Smooth.....Really?

2. Really looking forward to Denise & James, think they're a good pairing.

3. Group dance was too messy, you couldn't really see the potential of anyone.

4. Was sad that Katya went, but like the new girl.

5. I miss Alesha!!! ( Puts on tin hat and goes to sit in the corner )

1. Pasha, sort your hair out!
2. Jerry and Anton may not be as bad as I initially thought.
3. Karen's no Katya but she may be good.
4. Need more Ian, let him dance every results show (or injure another pro so he can take there place , preferably James or Anton.)
5. I'm genuinely looking forward to seeing all of them dance (at least once), even Richard.

1. I look at Pasha and now see Chelsee Healey.
2. I'm concerned about Nicky and Karen and Louis and Flavia - Nicky's smile seemed fixed at the announcement and Louis' reaction has already been pointed out.
3. Colin and Kristina; really?! Is she going to be dancing on stilts???
4. Loved Bruce's joke about Craig and the face change.
5. The remix of the theme worked with the introductory dance.

1. I really miss Alesha;
2. Bruce was really, really bad. He makes the guy that presents the Dutch version look good;
3. Karen looks promising;
4. Why the obvious disappointment on Louis' face? Do they really not know in advance who their partner will be?;
5. Bring back Ian!

1. Loved Seeing Darcy dance with Ian.
2. Pleased Aliona wasn't given a hot young thing again.
3. I am loving Colin, shame there's such a height difference with Kristina.
4. Glad Flavia got someone who appears to be a contender.
5. Jerry might be the dark horse this year.

1/ Great to step back into the sparkly bubblegum world that is Strictly

2/ How good was it to see Ian back. Personally prefer tne blonde to the brunette.

3/ Noticed that the cameras/choreographer put Anton ... in the corner. I felt compelled to keep an eye on him and thought how lazy his dancing/posturing was. Is it wrong to hope Anton gets some minor injury that is just bad enough for the lovely Ian to take over and partner Jerry, although I admit I can see more comedy value with an Anton partnership.

4/ Some interesting partnerships there. Not necessesarily in a good way.

5/ Roll on Oct 5th

1. Get rid of Bruce - his memory has obviously gone because he read everything from cards even the names of the dancers and the celebs and his "jokes" are still cringeworthy.
2. Colin andOrla are height mismatched.
3. Robin must be treating it as just another job because he stands no chance of winning with Lisa.
4. Ferne has put on a bit of weight but hopefully will lose it.
5. Get rid of Bruce - his memory has obviously gone because he read everything from cards even the names of the dancers and the celebs and his "jokes" are still cringeworthy..

1) Craig was out of order to several people. judge them after they have danced.
2) so pleased James and Ola are back, just wish Ola had gotten someone else....
3) As much as I liked her, I did not miss Alesha at all.
4) New dancer Karen is great! Love her!
5) Ian should be back on the show full time! Replace him with Anton, Ian can do both ballroom and Latin, Anton can only do one.

And I love Pasha!

Love this thread

1) Have always liked Bruce but the reading from the cards was a bit of a shocker on prime time sat night tv. Sadly he did look "doddery". And dont see the point of Tess at all.

2) Hope the panel arent too rough on Johnny. What a lovely man.Nervous of the thought of him doing latin in some silly costume.
3) Jerry's one liners - fabulous. What a classy broad she is. Hope she can dance.
4) Nicky Byrne didnt seem to have much of a personality compared to others.
5) Darcy Bussell is gorgeous - I hope she has some interesting comments to make and isnt too nicey nice all the time.

1. Loved the opening theme last night with the pros all dancing in the street and into the studio. A real feel good start to the show I'm wishing I hadn't been quite so vocal the other day about the new theme now

2. Lots of promising pairings and should make for a great series.

3. I laughed at Brucie's jokes and in particular the one about the new face on the panel...

4. I find all of the pairing up a little bit cringe-worthy and feel so sorry for the poor pros more than the celebs for some reason. They don't know where to look sometimes when the camera is on them waiting to see their reaction, which is why I won't take any meanings from any body language/facial expressions/hand holding that might or might not be going on. I don't believe we see the true picture anyway until they all start working closely with each other every day.

5. Gutted we have 3 weeks to wait now before it all kicks off again........ I might still just partake in the *Strictly Snacks* each week though until then just to keep me in the mood!

My 5 main thoughts.

1. Disappointed that I wont see much of what Aliona can do this year.
2. Disappointed in some of the pairings Nicky/Karen Flavia/Louis Colin/Kristina Brendan/Victoria.
3. Pro dances good, group dance a mess, camera work bad.
4. Didn't realise Darcey could be so HOT. Thanks Darcey.
5. The new producers are scoring more hit than miss so far - just.

1. Bruce's one funny joke was ruined by all his unfunny ones.

2. I suspect a new beach-side hotel is under construction on Erin Island.

3. I suspect Jerry won't see Anton until two days before rehearsal.

4. Being able to see Darcy's bare buttocks fly across the screen was worth the licence fee alone

5. Robin's narrative arc is now complete - from his first series when they pretended he was straight to this one where he's the wing-man for the hen party organiser.
