What did everyone think? (from the small bits we saw of her, where was her welcome routine?)

I liked her, she looked great with Artem imo.

First impressions were great. She looked good with Artem and I'm looking forward to seeing more of her.

Yes, from a distance I think she looks like (wait, just let me Google the spelling) Nicole Scherzinger.

She seems to have a good sense of humour. I'd like to see her dance a little more as we only got a taste tonight. Hopefully she'll have a welcome routine in the next show, Daisy. Hopefully with all the male pros, just like Pasha had one with all the females last year!

Gorgeous and glad to see a pro looking a little different - with the exception of Flavia they all seem to be merging into blondeness

As already mentioned, she also reminds me of Nicole from the Pussycat Dolls, they're similar looking (which is a good thing).

Dance wise I was very happy with what I saw and, despite not thinking Katya deserved to be dropped, I think Karen looks like she fits in already. I wish her luck on the show.

Who did Katya fall out with? Wish we could have lost Natalie instead, she always seems so hard-faced to me.

I thought she should have had a welcome dance like Pasha, but I guess she lead the pro's group dance with Artem, and she did look good there. Her arms looked like snakes when she went to meet Nicky!

I agree actually, I can't quite put my finger on it, but I've never warmed to Natalie.

Well, she just isn't warm, is she? She is a good dancer, I must admit, but there's something terrible mechanically self-aware about her that doesn't appeal.

Have to agree. If they had to get rid of someone, I wish, I wish, I wish they'd gotten rid of Natalie instead of Katya.

I was sorry to see Katya go. Loved her with Gavin Henson - but I didn't expect the Natalie hate to start so early in the current series.

I like her - she's a straight talking Aussie who, like every other pro wants to win. The difference is she's not afraid to say so and why not?

She's a fantastic dancer and choreographer with a body to match.

It was clear last year that she wouldn't go far with Audley - being partly hampered by Audley's frequent trips across the Atlantic - but she was lovely with him and showed she didn't need to have one of the favourites to bring out the best in her partner.

Unremarkable. Katya was one of the few dancers with personality, to axe her was disgusting but I've started to understand what the BBC are doing.
Now, over on DWTS, they seem to want the cast to have your "journey" and to be personable etc but they also want the viewer to be able to enjoy some decent dancing too. Hence them casting mainly healthy sized people, below 65 years of age. They also have a much bigger pool to select from of course, so such celebritys are perhaps easier to find. Over on the BBC however, a much larger percent of the audience is older, with the X-Factor taking the lions share of the younger audience. So the BBC play their part and select people who represents the average fan. As a result, we get anything from around 8 people each year (although this season is by no means the worst) who have very limited potential because of age/body. And pairing such people with professional dancers like Ian, Matt or Katya shows off how poor they are. And we can't have a semi final onwards with scores of 3 or 4. So slowly the BBC are replacing the cast with "professionals" (wink wink). This theory explains Anton. It explains Erin. Heck it even expains..Bobby.
Likewise, this bold and unusual tactic explains Tess. Started to think Bruno was vulgar and annoying? In comes Darcey! Dosnt look so bad now does he.

I don't watch Dancing With The Stars but much publicity was given to a certain Cloris Leachman - a lady of 80+ years.

Or is my memory playing tricks?

Can somebody explain what any of this post means, please?

Yes they do have older contestants and I have NO problem with that. I just think going into each SCD season knowing only one of 3-4 can win is not ideal, nor is the overall standard of dance if too many are limited by factors beyond the pro control. But as I said, compared the past series, this year doesn't look too bad

The dislike for from some people is due imo to the things you mention imo Straight talking with a great body.
