I really object to celebs making stupid claims on their weight and size because it can lead to a young girl who is a size 16 and or weighs 11 stone thinking that she looks as big Lisa

Quite honestly young girls aspire to unrealistic figures these days and worry if they are a size UK 10/12

those beach pictures of Nichole Ritchie and Rachel Zoe ought to get more publicity so that people know what a size zero really looks like

People walked out of Belsen like this. It's shocking and a real problem that people are driven to do this to themselves. Hope they get help of whatever necessary kind.

Thing is, they don't see what you see when they look at themselves.

Lisa isn't a size 16 - She's bigger than me - and I'm an 18-20 and 5ft 9....... she's smaller and therefore bigger!

She's a 24 minimum, but if she puts heart and soul into her training, she could esily drop a few sizes along the way.

i've a friend who is 5ft 8 - so is my mum. A size 18- 20 on someone of 5ft 8/9 doesn't necessarily indicate that they'll look overweight. They can look, a size 14 but the frame, eg shouders, needs the extra room. There's no excess weight on face, legs, arms etc at all on my mum or friend. It's an old chestnut, " Ah ..it's my frame" but it's true.

So I agree with you. A size 16 on a shorter person doesn't, look similar to Lisa.

I totally agree. If she wants to be a 'poster girl' for something then she needs to dump the "doing it for the chubbers" mantra and instead say she is going to show the heavier girls that all this exercise combined with eating sensibly really can pay off. It will be there on our tellies every week with nowhere to hide.
I'd back her all the way for that kind of campaign & honesty.

Lisa is apparently going to lift Robin in the Cha Cha Cha:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...e-partner.html

Story claims she is the 1st female to lift their male partner but Pamela lifted/held James during the Charleston.

And didn't Natalie Cassidy lift Vincent?

To be fair to Lisa Riley, one FM has said she once claimed to be a size 16, but do we have any documentary evidence of this? I found an article from March this year in which it mentions her weight as 16 stone - perhaps that's the confusion?

http://www.people.co.uk/celebs-tv/ce...2039-23783227/

We don't always have a healthy attitude to food, and it all seems to be about body image, when a more realistic attitude to have would be to think about health. Lisa talks about her family's poor health and her genetic inheritance in this article so, while I applaud her ballsy attitude, she'd do well to think of her health rather than her body image. The statistics covered in this image are staggering, if true.

Good point peeve. I would hate to be criticising her over a mistake in reporting.
In truth I really can't imagine she would dare claim to be a 16.Not when she is going to be filmed at her worst in practice sessions .

Going to stick my neck out, she has an absolutely gorgeous face but I personally think she would look and undoubtdly feel better a whole lot better if she shed a few stone. Let's be frank here, asthetics aside, her health would be benefit too. Let me clarify, I am in no way anti heavier folk.

Actually she didn't lift him despite what a lot of the papers are saying.
He lifted his own body weight by jumping and wrapping his legs around her waist.
Fair play to her for hanging on to him!

I like Lisa and adore Robin but I HATED that move. I'm assuming that Lisa doesn't want the "Chubster comedy/ Sympathy Vote"...so didn't see the need for them to include that. I also hated that the wardrobe personnel put her in a wraparound cardi

I didn't see any leg wrapping round going on in Lisa's lift, I will have to watch that again.

I used to be overweight and I agree with you. I love Lisa and Robin's partnership and boy, she can dance but I KNOW she would beneft from losing a bit of weight and hopefully with all this dancing then that should happen.

I agree the training and dancing should do Lisa the world of good.

This is SUCH an opportunity for her.
Seriously now,I mean this kindly......if she eats well (sensibly) during this series and lasts a few weeks then it could turn her career round. A slimmer Lisa might get meatier (no pun intended) acting parts rather than the stereotypical fat-bird parts she has done. There would be interest in her from the slimming companies too & the possibility of all sorts of weight loss doors being opened to her.
That's the thing with Strictly, some people do really really well earnings wise after the series ends & some disappear off the radar. I sense Lisa will do well financially from this, and she will deserve it if her first dance is anything to go by because she clearly is a worker not a shirker.

She isn't chubby, if she lost 5-6 stone she might be a 'chubber'. I hate people who go on about their weight the whole time, if you don't care then shut up about it because I care less.

I think you are being a little harsh, its good to talk about these things rather than bottling them up, good for Lisa, she is an inspiration to others with similar issues.
