Just to point out, we still can't be sure of Victoria's as it's not outright stated what they're doing - most of the clip is him trying to help her walk in heels.

But it was a very Latin walk with lots of hip, you wouldn't need that for the waltz.

I've only seen it once but she had the cha cha step in the walk too, didn't she?

Yes, I saw cha cha steps in there, so think that's more than likely what she's doing.

I'd like to get the Salsa out of the way as i don't like it but i wonder if they will change the order of dances this year.

Thinking about it if the Salsa was later on, less couples would be dancing it so would be more bearable.

I'm not actually sure which order i'd like to see the dances in but imo the Jive, Rumba and Tango should be later rather than earlier.

Natalie says she's doing the Waltz and Jive with Michael today, so we can presume that the Jive is one of the week 2 dances.

Looks like Tango and Jive this year.

This sounds good if they've decided to change the Week 2 dances. The Foxtrot is way too technical to be danced that soon and the Salsa is too much like the Cha Cha (i.e. a party dance) so don't mind if these are being pushed back till later. Would also mean that Jerry will dance the Tango which she expressed an interest in.

I hope they don't mix them up from Week 3 but would like to see the following pairings:

Week 3 - Quickstep & Paso Doble
Week 4 - Viennese Waltz & Charleston
Week 5 - American Smooth & Rumba
Week 6 - Foxtrot & Salsa

Then mix it up each week from there - ideally get rid of the Charleston and replace with Argentine Tango or Samba!

On Victoria's dance: I'm just being pedantic because it hasn't been outright declared yet. The latin steps could just be because she hasn't worn heels in a decade and is worried about her cyclist's legs, so Brendan could be giving her a quick run-through both disciplines.

I don't think they'll be having the 'either/or' route until week 6 again, as 2010 and 2011 went freeform earlier. But we'll have to wait and see when the 'theme weeks' come up.

I'm saying Tango as that was what Aliona was working on with Johnny when the hairline fracture happened.

Think it was Foxtrot/Salsa for week 2 last year, probably the same in Kara's series, and I think it was Foxtrot/Rumba in Chris' year (their virtual week 2 anyway)

Of course, in some series the week 2 dance is not necessarily the second dance they perform. And in Chris' year there were two dances in the first week - tango/waltz then cha-cha-cha/rumba.

Just because I like lists...
Series 1-4: week 2 was quickstep/rumba
Series 5: week 2 was quickstep/rumba again, but as that was the first year dancers were split for the women that was their first dance, and the men had jive/tango as their second dance
Series 6: week 2 was foxtrot/salsa for the women (first dance); week 3 was jive/tango for the men (second dance); week 4 quickstep/rumba for the women (second dance)
Series 7: week 3 (everybody's second week) was quickstep/paso doble
Series 8-9: week 2 was foxtrot/salsa

So they don't alternate the second week's dances (or the second dances) that much.

I was right on the Rumba being their virtual week 2 lol

I'll see if I can find some more tweets to get a clearer picture, but atm week 2 seems to be Tango/Jive.

Oh well if this turns out to be correct i hope we get some decent ones, especially Tangos.

And cwickhams list has just reminded me that i did actually enjoy a Salsa once, Rachel and Vincents first dance

For Series 5, the girls also joined the men in dancing a Tango or Jive as their 2nd dance (Week 3) - Alesha Jived and Letitia Tangoed.

Johnny Ball was rubbishing the tabloid claims that he "broke Aliona's leg" on his Twitter and said "even 'doing Tango' was wrong".

Does anyone know who is dancing on Friday and who is dancing on Saturday, and is it likely there will be 4 Cha-Cha's and 2 Waltzes on Friday, and 4 of each on Saturday?

I'd like to see the dances paired like this:

Week 2: Quickstep/Rumba
Week 3: Foxtrot/Jive
Week 4: Paso Doble/Samba
Week 5: Vienesse Waltz/Salsa
Week 6: American Smooth/Charleston
Week 7 onwards: Any unperformed dance

Thats not particularly suitable. Those who have done slow waltzes would do slow rumbas too. Those that did quick CCCs would do quick quicksteps...

Far better to do Foxtrot and Jive week 2 so everyone would probably do a quick latin and a slow ballroom.

Im hoping its either Tango or Foxtrot for next week and Jive or Salsa.

I'm not sure if everyone is in BBC rehearsals today at TVC - I know Lisa and Robin are, but Denise and James don't seem to be.

Maybe those who are at TVC are on the Friday show?

I think Tango is a difficult first ballroom dance for the male celebs, so if it is a second week dance for those who did CCC first week then hard luck to those male celebs.

The Jive is a difficult dance if you are not fit, so Lisa or Fern wouldn't want it and if Michael's knees are bad, it wont be easy for him either.

You can be unlucky in the first few weeks and get dances that just dont suit you, but as the weeks pass, it all gets evened out.

Fern did jive in the Christmas special didn't she? So if she goes a long way, that will be he dance she doesn't do if hey follow the example of others who"ve done the Christmas show.

Both of these are latin dances.

I'm so glad that it seems we will have Tango & Jive as Week 2 dances - a change I'm fine with.
