Well she wouldn't get it next week anyway as the CCC is her first dance and yes she did do the Jive in the Xmas special.

It just means that Artem will probably have to do the Samba this year (which I don't think he did with Kara, not sure what dances he missed with Holly).

He didn't do a Samba with Holly either so he's a Samba Virgin in the Strictly sense.

As I posted above, the only clue we have towards Tango being a week 2 dance is the claim that Aliona's leg broke when practising a Tango move with Johnny - which he has since comprehensively rubbished.

I don't think we'll be getting the 'either/or' route until week 6 again - one of the big parts of the 2010 refresh was to ditch that earlier. Presumably the thinking is that more variety is better for the audience, which seems fair enough.

Fairly sure Anton tweeted he was teaching Jerry the foxtrot so assmued that 2nd week dances would be same as last 2 years- Foxtrot and Salsa. But then Natalie has tweeted about the jive so I'm thinking that maybe the latin dance will be the jive. This would make sense as to why Anton and Jerry are dancing a latin in the first week, which is the first time ever Anton has danced latin first and not ballroom; if he knew that the 2nd week latin dance was the jive he'd probably want to avoid it!!

The pic of Aliona and Johnny practicing in a car park did look a bit like a Foxtrot to me, so maybe the FT is the Ballroom week 2 dance and the Jive is the Latin week 2 dance?

It'd be odd to change the latin but not the ballroom, wouldn't it? Then again, the waltz/jive pattern ensures everyone has done a slow ballroom and a fast latin, whereas there aren't many slow ballrooms they could viably do in week 2 other than foxtrot - probably too early for american smooth, viennese waltz is too similar to the waltz...

Week 3 is a theme week - specifically Hollywood: http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/pro...cing-wk43.html

That probably means they'll be going free-for-all (bar a few dances such as AT), with that week containing several different dances.

I know they have in the past with theme weeks but it doesn't necessary mean they will this time, there are two dances that would fit the American Smooth and Charleston (maybe ) You're probably right though, but I remain foolishly optimistic.

I'm bumping this thread because of Tess saying that Nicky will have the Cha Cha next week?!

Surely not everyone is going to do a Waltz & Cha Cha for the first two dances because that means no one will be performing either of them later on in the series (i.e. at a more higher standard).

And that would conflict with Michael supposedly doing the Jive. They're surely not going to do waltz & cha cha again next week - any producer would be terrified of boring the viewers with lack of variety. And at the same time it's got to be either/or, not mixing it up this early on? Hmmm. I wouldn't take anything as read just yet.

I hope you're right but am worried because I think Tess announced that Rusell was was doing the Salsa after his Cha Cha and that turned out to be correct.

As I said before I do hope it's the Tango & Jive with everyone doing the opposite style.
