I haven't even read it yet, but has anyone else noticed that Anton dresses on the left, is he left handed too?

Anton's raison d'etre is to provide the comedy capers - he is useless at latin and would not in the show for any other reason

I would take that article with a pinch of salt and 'sources'.
I'd no idea he's 46 , I thought they'd made a mistake and had to check to confirm it.

Anton knows what his role is within SCD and why the SCD producers are keeping him and that is for the comedy element, in preference to far superior dancers like Ian, who would have a great partnership with Jerry.

In my opinion Anton is a great dancer on the Strictly Come Dancing, and his dancing skills are wide ranging.

It wouldn't have surprised me if Laila Rouass stopped her Rumba on purpose because she felt sick watching Anton dance it in the first place!

Poor Jerry. Anton is a busted flush and I have no idea why he is still there.

Jerry is very lucky, Anton is more like a Royal flush.

Why not criticise him, it's a forum after all. I can't stand him, but as I said in another thread, just record it and skip the 'humourous' Anton/Bruce/Tess bits, it ain't rocket science. He must NEVER be given the presenting gig though, that would just be adding insult to injury.

I agree. He is one of my favourites.

He can't dance Latin, has seriously lessened the chances of those good celebrities who could have gone far with another dancer, mugs/gurns to the camera rather than concentrates on his dancing, and is very limited with choreography (see the 'Nancy lift' in every dance).

He's a good ballroom boy - but an all rounder he ain't.

Anton should think of how well he can showcase Jerry. She might well struggle initially, but she has the advantage over many in that she is a realist and will not be fazed by anything that is thrown at her.

Anton has had good partners, but he has either been let down by TGBP, their partner or himself. The comedy with Ann Widdicombe was great, but that was enough. Last year I got irritated,with both Anton and Nancy. I would kike

Those of us of a certain age can remember when Jerry Hall and Marie Helvin were modelling superstars and the most beautiful women in the world (and plenty of us watch SCD). I think this is a fantastic opportunity for Anton to show how a slightly 'older' couple can be cool, sophisticated and sexy - Jerry can pull it off, she's confident in front of the camera - he just needs to think carefully about his Latin routines and drop the comedy element. Am I really tacky in wanting to see Anton & Jerry do a cha-cha to 'Let's Stick Together', with Jerry in a tigerskin dress? She already knows how to shimmy to it.

Seriously, I too remember when Jerry and Marie were supermodel goddesses but, just because I admired Jerry Hall back then, doesn't mean I'll vote for her dancing now. Sadly, as she is paired with my least favourite pro dancer, the chances of my voting for her are in any case virtually nil.

I don't mind Anton. None of the pros are brilliant at everything, and some of them have been given relatively more of the "better" prospects in the partnership selections down the years. Meanwhile, Jerry's height, build and modelling experience have given her elegance and poise, which hopefully will count for something. If they only do a half decent job just in the ballroom dances, IMO it will be worth watching.
