Just been in Tesco and seen the 16GB for £199 thieving sods, Asda across the road has the 32GB for the same price as Google Play, some poor soul almost bought one but put it down when I told them the difference

4.2 seems to have lost the ability to tether to my phone via Bluetooth. It tethers over WiFi okay though. Shame as Bluetooth was far more power efficient.

There is an all-new Bluetooth stack in 4.2, which Google says improves compatibility and reliability, and is optimised for use with other Android devices.

Mine still tethers to my iPhone via Bluetooth. Silly question, but is internet access definitely ticked in the Bluetooth device options on the Nexus 7?

Thanks. That was all it was I never noticed that option on the previous version.

Do you have to turn this option on every time you tether? Doesn't seem to remember the setting...

My Dice media player has been borked with 4.2 that's annoying.

Just installed 4.2 on my Nexus 7.

Anyone else having issues with an overly-sensitive auto-brightness?

On mine it seems to flick up and down in low light on the slightest of pretexts. It's very annoying and quite unnecessary and I've had to disable it as a result.

On 4.1.2 (and older) it operated far more smoothly and on less of a hair-trigger.

4.2 is causing Firefox to crash repeatedly.

Apparently they're working on it so it's Chrome for me in the meantime.

My Nexus 7 updated to 4.2 Jellybean a few hours ago.
Not noticed any real problems with it so far.
Will the battery still last as long on the Nexus 7 with the new $.2 update.

Yep. Its a proper family tablet now with the multiple user ids

Genuinely can't think why its taken so long for this feature on android or apple.

Try dolphin browser. It's pretty good.

I do wish you could share things like apps and pictures between accounts. It's not so bad though as you can just log in with multiple accounts and re- download them.

I must admit I am loving this new swipe keyboard, I can see me being used to it.

Argos are pulling the same sort of stunt. They have the 16gb at the top of the page for tablets under 'we recommend' and the 32gb right at the bottom, both at the same price.

I noticed this when I was reading a comic in bed last night, very annoying. I hope it gets fixed as I imagine the old auto-brightness was a good battery saver.

/i just got the bug that others were talking about where the screen was black and it wouldn't turn on.

I never had this issue with 4.1 and only been using 4.2 for less than a day, not great...

Is this happening across all of the different versions or is it specific to a particular one?

I haven't experienced it yet on my 32gb but then I've only had it a couple of weeks!

I'm not sure if its a software or hardware issue.

The BBC are no longer relying on Flash for their Android apps, so future stuff should work fine on Nexus 7/Jellybean”

I just tried to download iPlayer to my Nexus 7 (4.2) and was told it was not compatible with my device. So what gives?

It works OK on my Xoom (4.1.2).

The BBC haven't updated the required Android versions on the Play store yet. 4.1 is the highest version it can be installed on.

I suppose they want to test it before allowing installation. It appears to work fine though on my Nexus 7 updated to 4.2.

I thought forward compatibility was assured... And you have obviously tested that, having downloaded iPlayer under 4.1,

Nexus 7s were upgraded to 4.2 between my post and yours.

its not common, but developers have the option to specify their app will only run on certain versions of Android, and not future ones. Sadly the Beeb seem to have done this.

(just checked and iplayer seems to be fine on Nexus 7, 4.2 so you can always sideload it in the meantime)
