Before you do that, you might find that clearing the data and cache from the Google Play Store app can also fix the problem - it did for me when I got that random bug once. Annoying that it happens at all, but it's pretty rare at least.

Tried that and it didn't fix the issue.

Thanks for you replies to my earlier question Paul. Sorry it's taken so long to get back.

I do like the look of G+, and may give it a go. The only issue I have with it is one you touched on, and that's handing more of yourself and your identity to Google. I suppose that's just something I'll have to decide myself over time. Thanks though.

Still in love with this amazing device. Lots of great games available, and I already have a few installed. But it's so hard to come across great games as the store is so vast! So come on Nexus fans, name us your favourite games.

Have you got Where's My Water? That's a really addictive game. There's a free version, but well worth the few pence for the paid version which has a huge number of levels.

Nope! Will check it out. Thanks for that.

My current favourite is Hill Climb Racing. Jaysus how addictive is that game? I get so annoyed with myself for liking it so much. You think, "well it's barely a game", but then you're still playing it three hours later! I love how the mobile and casual gaming market has the so-called hardcore gamers tying their bowels in knots! They don't understand it at all!

Super Hexagon. At first it seems impossible, but then slowly slowly you get a bit better. And with each game lasting a maximum of 1 minute, perfect for killing a quick bit of time.

That game is sooo last month!

Been on Death Rally for the last week, graphics are sweet

Installed Guns 4 Hire today, looks good - but the audio glitches all over the place.

I apologise in advance if this is a well worn question on this thread, but I'm thinking of going into the tablet world for mt birthday in just over a month. I was thinking of asking for a nexus 7, but I'm wondering if there are any rumours of an updated version coming out anytime soon?

No solid rumours as far as I know.

Always reassuring that it wont be old news straight off. How do people get around the no hdmi compatability? Is there another lead?

Air Resistance if your present giver can afford more then you should go for the iPad Mini. Better selection of apps and bigger screen.

A friend bought the Nexus 7 and returned it when an update to Google Chrome requires giving permission to Google to Switch on the video camera at anytime.

Nope, the N7 is incapable of outputting video via its USB port.

Android 4.2 technically supports Miracast, which is a recently introduced standard for wireless displays, but this functionality has only been enabled on the Nexus 4, and not on either the N7 or N10. There aren't yet many TVs or media receivers that support it either.

Some video players will allow you to stream video to a DLNA compatible receiver, such as a smart TV or media streamer, but that's pretty much it. There is no system-wide video output ability.

I think there was talk at one point about you being able to search Google just by taking a picture - eg. you could take a picture of the Sistine Chapel and get information on it that way, rather than typing "Sistine Chapel" in directly. Presumably that's what the Camera permission would have been for, although I've just checked and neither Chrome nor Chrome Beta require the Camera permission.

It seems odd your friend would return a perfectly functioning device over a permission on an app that he could have just not used - it's not like there are a shortage of browsers out there. Most people don't even rate Chrome as the best anyway.

Privacy freak, lol. I like the look of the Nexus but Android doesn't offer the legal-based apps I am using and I'm too deep in with iOS now.

I've heard that they are prepping a new version for the Google I/O event in May.
