But if you have the screen on for x hours a day on average, and use draining games for y hours a day on average it can make a pretty good guess. in reality, it spits out various different estimates, including
- "if you keep using it as you are right now it will last this many hours"
- "if you keep using it as you have been since unplugged it will last that many hours" and
- "if you use it like you have been doing most days it will last this many hours".

All displayed on one little widget.

Yes I understand but the figures will be meaningless. If you use it it will last 10 hours, if you don't it'll last 300. If the battery were at 30% then the estimates would be 3 hours to 4 days. Useless. It is more meaningful to just say it's 30%

current figures on mine : 6hr3min, 3hr 38min, 6hr 49m. That's very useful. (figures are 'global estimation' (a weighted average all round I think), all-time average, average since unplug. )

That's more useful to me than 23%, particularly if I'm out and about still, and especially when comparing two devices (phone and tablet)

(and if I open up the app it tells me 1d8h standby, or 2hr 12 playing local video, and lots more besides, but the widget is usually enough)

So in every scenario it will be flat by morning?

nope, like I said, standby time is 1d8h. As if I could leave it alone for that long

As for cases I don't really use them. But I have one for a 7" kindle that cost me a quid on eBay. It's neoprene.”

I read the kindle neoprene ones are to small on various sites, which is why I'm looking for one that is designed for the Nexus 7.

You can also get the neoprene cases from the pound store.

Hey, i would like to know if my mobile device supports Tethering so i know if i can buy this product (id want an interbet connection on the go)

On my phone it gives ne the option of "usb thethering" or "portable hotspot"

So is that ok? I don't want to be walking around with my phone connected to the nexus to get a connection, so that sounds dodgy. Is the "portable" hotspot the same thing just wireless?

casewise I got this one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Google-Slim-...421852&sr=8-18

nice things - good solid protection in a case that looks like a notebook when closed; comfortable to hold without worrying about it slipping out of your hands and I use the handstrap (picture 4) far more than I thought I would.Only negative is the stand (main picture) does have a 'footprint' thats quite large; would be nice if it was similar to the ipad smart cover stands.

Tap and hold, then drag the handles to mark what you want to copy (or just click copy). Then tap and hold where you want to to paste and tap paste at the top. In the case of links it may come up with a window, choose copy link address.

Does anyone know if the Nexus 7 would play Facebook flash games?

My girlfriend is interested in getting a tablet to replace her Dell Mini 10 netbook as it's just too slow. She only uses it for basic web browsing and internet banking, but does like to play the odd Facebook games but her Mini 10 won't run them and just freezes.

Thanks

My issue with case like that is it adds 181g to the weight of the device, I prefer just to use a sleeve and remove it when using.

Similar yes, but somebody might wish to retain their progress and their affiliations with other players from the Facebook versions.

Not tried for Facebook specifically, but with Firefox browser you can play Flash games generally.

Yes use portable hotspot, it provides a wifi connection that your Nexus can connect to, using the phone's 3G data connection, make sure you have a data tariff that allows tethering, many don't.
