hi have a cambridge audio amp azur 640a and cant seem to connect to skyhd any help much appreciated

HDMI from sky into amp then amp out to telly and optical from sky to amp, or HDMI to telly from sky and optical from sky to amp , you'll have to assign to whatever HDMI and /or optical you use

No optical on amp or hdmi ?

howardl was presuming your amp was an AV one, where presumably it's only a stereo one?.

You simply need phono leads from the back of the Sky box to a spare line input on your amp.

You need to be aware though that this means you have no way of adjusting lip-sync - so you would be better coming out of the back of your TV (which should be synchronised).
