I actually like all the songs on this and will be playing this album for a long time. It's a real return to form after the disappointing Day In Age and I don't think Brandon has ever sounded so good as he does on this

It's great. I put it on my iPod for my train journey home last Thursday, and was struck by how much of a return to form it was. Definitely their best work after Hot Fuss!

I don't agree at all that Battle Born is a return to form - I actually think The Killers have got even better since their debut, and this is another brilliant album from them. Even more excited about seeing them live in November now!!!

I don't think Day and Age is a disappointment. It was a very cohesive and well rounded album with very good songs. It may not have had songs like Midnight show, Mr Brightside, when you were young, but it the songs on the album were still melodious and rocking. Battleborn is better than Sam's Town and just as good as Day and Age. I love the sounds, synths, lyrics and melody of the songs on the album. Be Still, Flesh and bones, and Deadlines and Commitments are my favourite songs at the moment. Be Still is inspiring. Hot Fuss is still their best album. You cannot beat songs like Jenny was a friend of mine, Midnight show and Somebody told me.

I love Miss Atomic Bomb and think that Brandon's voice just keeps getting better. Runaways sounds more incredible every time I listen to it.

It might just be me, but I was quite disappointed with it
It might just be because it's pretty much been on repeat at work all week and I'm sick of it now haha.I still prefer a lot of their earlier work tbh Just personal opinion though

I am a huge Killers fan but I am also massively disappointed with this album. I thought there might have been a bit more variety, I find it quite boring and extremely similar to Flamingo. Feel quite let down as was so excited for this album.

Again another Killers fan, also a bit disappointed with Battle Born. I'm sure it'll grow on me, but there doesn't seem to be any spark or anything innovative here (like Flamingo, but I preferred Flamingo as a collection of songs to Battle Born). Sure, I'll still play it loads, but I remember when the Killers used to lead the way with trends and be exciting and dynamic, even if people didn't always like it, like with Day & Age. This just feels a bit ... calculated. Anyway, I'm sure once I've seen the songs live things will click into place a bit, but it's not my favourite Killers album.

Battle Born is a good, solid album. My favourite tracks atm are Runaways, Deadlines & Commitments and The Way It Was. I think its better than Sam's Town, i like it as much as Day & Age but i don't think they'll ever top Hot Fuss

Loving this album... I'll probably get slated for this but it sounds to me like a modern version of the stuff Bruce Springsteen used to do.

Saw them on Sunday and they were INCREDIBLE! I've been listening to Battle Born quite a lot this week as a result. It's brilliant. Miss Atomic Bomb and Deadlines and Commitments are definitely my favourites.
Sam's Town is still my favourite album though. |

I'm pretty sure they wrote 3 of the big songs off Hot Fuss with the 'aid' of top songwriters (Smile Like You Mean It, Somebody Told Me and Mr Brightside), which is one of the reasons they'll never top that album.
It's a shame that Brandon did the solo album cause if you add the best songs off that to Battle Born you have an amazing record! |

The issue with the Killers is that they broke too fast into the mainstream.
Their barnstorming Glastonbury 2005 (which I was foutunate to be at) brought them to the attention of the masses. Sam's Town, even though there were a few good tracks on it, failed to satisfy. That's the problem with The Killers, great singles band Day & Age & Battle Born are desperate attempts to recapture that 2005 buzz, but unfortunately, they are treading water. Doesn't matter for the band I guess, they are still selling out stadiums, but are they going to become one of the true great bands? Not in my opinion |

I don;t think being a success to quick is a bad thing is it?
I loved Sams Town when you were young read my mind bones for reasons unknown are all classic killer songs to me anyways they've been around now since 2004 and really broke into mainstream in 05 human was a great song but day and age is I think is my least favorite album dont all bands have there peaks which they will never reach again? Just so happened killers found it at the start does not mean they can continue to still make awesome music look at snow patrol they really took off big time with the chasing cars album era forget the name of it but since then anything they have released has not gotten that same buzz again and they were around for years before that album

Now I've listened to Battle Born a bit more, I do like it but not as much as previous Killers albums. I also saw the band live last night and although they put on a great performance, they missed out most of my favourites from the new album which was a bit disapointing!
