Dell Dimension 9100 Problem

I have an Old Dell Dimension 9100 PC im trying to burn an iso file to disc its 5.25gb in size. I have convertxtodvd already on there and i have some spare DVD-RDL dual discs. I just tried to burn it with Free iso burner and it came up with an error. Just tried to do it using Convertx and it said disc was not compatable with burner. Anyone know what dual layer discs i need for this.

What DVD-RW drive do you have? Device Manager will tell you the make/model.

It will accept both + and - double layer, but there looks to be broader compatibility with DVD+R DL.

It might be worth a slower burn speed.

I know very little about all the various formats but dvd+rw seems to have a capacity of 4.7GB so won't be big enough ??

Would a firmware update for your drive be appropriate ... if you go that route make sure you read all the instructions so you don't break it.

Edit: no harm to try one more burner, ImgBurn is good.

Wait for further advice though as I'm out of my depth here.

The OP has said several times they are using Dual Layer disks, which hold up to 8.5GB.

I too am happy to recommend ImgBurn.

Yes I know, its just that he was going to the shop to get dvd+rw, if he'd said dvd+rw DL then I wouldn't have posted.
