No, it's not just you. I always manually tune to my transmitter to avoid other problems. I'd agree it's since the September retune. It'd be nice to get some light from Humax. I assume they follow such threads?

Did you stop the auto-tune during the default setting and then manually tune, or did you let the auto tune continue? If you let the auto tune continue did you delete those auto tuned channels before doing the manual tune?

Auto tune was stopped before it found anything then the manual tune was performed. Annoyingly the info button shows details for live programmes perfectly well - just not for recorded ones any more (and, like everybody else, I've still got a holy EPG)!

I've still got an EPG full of holes as well. Not good when you're trying to set your recordings for the week. This is dragging on now. I do actually wonder if Humax are going to do anything about this.

This is getting ridiculous! I went to program my PVR this evening to find every channel's EPG empty apart from now & next info.

Rebooting it has made no difference. Grrrr

Anybody know if the Humax Youview box suffers from this as i am about to throw the 9150 pvr in the dustbin. Completely blank epg from tuesday onwards, no use to me.

I have a Humax YouView box and have never seen this (I've had the box at least 2 months).

The Humax HDR-FOX T2 doesn't suffer from this and unless you specifically want the additional catch up facilities then in the current state of development the HDR is a much better PVR than the Youview box.

As you're in Nottingham can you tell me which dustbin it's going in.

Some of the regular contributors to this forum have previously said that they have been used as beta testers by Humax, so may still have contacts within the company.

Could any such person quietly ask Humax if this fault is ever likely to be addressed? I realise the machine's old, but it's still loved and we all need to know if we are waiting for a fix that will never be released?

I too am having this problem with my 9150. There was a retune here in Ulster on the 10th but from what I can remember it has been happening for weeks. Someone else on this thread mentioned 19 Sept, that also sounds about right to me. Also as others bave said the next 3 days seem to have loaded fine with the remaining days pretty much non-existant. Ive tried reset, manual returning etc but no success.

The biggest problem with the current EPG situation is that it's not consistent.

Sunday evening I tried to check the following Sunday's listings, but half the channels were missing. So I left it, watched Downton and Homeland which I'd recorded earlier in the evening and tried again afterwards.

Second time around, the EPG data available for the following Sunday was completely different. The listings for a couple of channels which had been there previously were now gone and a couple of the missing ones had finally shown up.

Frustrating.

Perhaps the EPG will load better once you have tried the
17 October 2012 retune

I had a weird one the other day.
Scrolled through the EPG to Sunday, Channel5 to set Disney's 'Dumbo' which the 9200T did.
As it's a split event and Five are renown for their poor synchronisation of accurate recording data to the programme, I went to the schedule to manually adjust.
Back to the EPG and several channels including the Five I had just set the event from, had blank entries there - it had just forgotten what it was displaying seconds earlier.

why would it ? as there is no changes to SD Channels { well channels that people are likely to want to record }

http://admin.digitaluk.co.uk/dmolcon...s/service_news

in fact the EPG problem is getting worse not better and I see nothing in this retune that will affect anything in relation to 9200/9300 units.

its clearly a Humax problem as my Freeview TV EPG does not have holes in it.

How about trying the FAQs[/url] and then, if no joy that way contacting the Manufacturer?

Once a few DS FMs get in touch- mentioining which transmitter they are tuning to - I would hope there would be a software update planned and delivered to address the glitsches..

Don't you think owners have not already done this - Humax just tells owners to do a factory reset which is doing no good at all.

On various forums its clear its a widespread problem with 9200/9300 and covers the whole Country.

By the way do you own a 9200 or 9300 ?

Hope is a very good thing. But there have been a number of issues with Humax products which have been brought to the attention of Humax (and even a clue to the solution given to some of them). It has been pointed out to them that some of these issues are country-wide. People have taken notice of the FAQs here and on dedicated Humax forums. Humax is very slow, if not tortoise-like, in dealing with (or possibly ignoring) these problems. There have been issues for over a year and yet Humax still broadcast the OTA update from over a year ago. They haven't yet addressed the problem.
We can hope all we like but someone needs to give Humax a kick up the bum. And unfortunately, they are not taking much notice of us.

It could be that other equipment stores more permanently any EPG information received and simply displays the store. If you know in detail how the EPG is collected and displayed on your TV and Humax then maybe you could enlighten the rest of us.

I own other freeview PVR's of various makes and they don't have any holes.

Look at this way up until the retune in September my two 9300 did not have any missing EPG entries and all of a sudden since that retune it does so whatever the problem is at least with my two Humax's its a recent problem.

If I only owned the Humax I would be stuff if I wanted to go away for a one week break as at varios times I am lucky if I can see four days.

As I have said, my own Panasonic recorder shows a full EPG but the bottom line is we still don't know if these other machines are simply displaying a stored image of received EPG data and at any one time 'behind' that display there may be holes. I'm not trying to defend the Humax... I will be very annoyed if we're only going to get a patchy EPG from now on... I'm just putting forward a suggestion as to why the Humax EPG is different to other machines. As this problem seems to have started around the 19th Sept. reshuffle I'm willing to keep an open mind until after today's reshuffle.

Humax support came back to me this morning requesting my post code so they may be looking into this issue. The fact that it has taken them 13 days from my initial email suggests that they may have a lot of customers reporting the same problem or alternatively lots of customers reporting completely different problems.

As it seems to be the case that the EPG holes started after the last retune or, in my case, the first phase of the Tyne Tees DSO then it suggests that the problem relates to a change in the EPG transmission. I seem to remember various discussions about how the EPG that Humax uses is different to that used by other Manufacturers.

Neither. My PVR's a TVonics, my DVDR a Panny. I was only trying to be helpful. I bid the thread farewell.

There is only one "EPG" (now*) broadcast for digital terrestrial TV UK (aka Freeview).
* There used to be others but the business model/funding for these was time-limited.

My guess is that the EPG carousel cycle has changed (simultaneously with the EPG shuffle/new channels starting), and future events/other mux channels are being refreshed less frequently.
Why this causes the Humax SD PVRs to "forget" programmes that it was displaying just a few seconds ago, I have no idea,

My guess is that the Humax displays 'live' EPG data, not a saved copy cached over recent time.
