Wonder if they have anyone in mind as a long term Doolan replacement?

(Bet the old bugger's reading this! LOL)

(If he is, when you having the bus people on again, as Sandwell's changing it's buses on 28 October?)

'Chatback' is now on BBC Coventry and Warwickshire as well as BBC WM. Graham Torrington is also now on BBC C&W and BBC Hereford and Worcester, as well as BBC WM.

Any other programming being shared?

Not yet - starts in the new year on the others, I think.

Graham Torrington's program is being extended to Stoke & Shropshire from next year.

Also looking at WM's schedules over the Christmas period, not sure why they have to use so many presenters from other stations. Simon Lederman is covering mid-mornings on the 27th/28th and 31st. Gareth Evans from Radio Nottingham is also covering various slots over the Christmas period but he has done quite a bit of cover work before. I'm sure they could have found some local presenters, most other BBC local stations are using their normal daytime staff, so why doesn't WM?

Are the schedules online now then?

I suppose its Xmas with Doolan & Santa aka one of his mates from one of the local Rotaries?

Nice to see 'Cockney the Dwarf' as Ian Wood used to call him, back on Wm airwaves!

Yeah, they're all up apart from Christmas Eve/Day.

If I remember correctly Shane O'Connor has featured the past few years on Christmas Day but he's doing C&W breakfast this year.

Is Bev Bevan covering for Chinnie then?

How much of Mollie do you really want?

Simon Lederman was an ex programme organiser at WM back in the late 90's/early 2000's, so he has connections at least.

Well, having 'suffered' during the Early Show years, I think 3 hours a week is more than enough, before the mind starts to melt!

(Then again I do occasionally text into Saturday Breakfast if I'm awake.

I did make an appearance via text on the last show, after she was on about Fart Fm(as she calls it!) playing Xmas songs & she couldn't.

I 'told' her 'You're moaning about Fart Fm playing Xmas songs! There's a station on DAB devoted to Xmas!'

She didn't read that bit out, but she also asked for Xmas songs to play & I suggested Jethro Tull.

One thing that annoys me is she appears to be very selective with what info she gives out.

For example, remember when the BBC national weather presenters went on strike for a day this year & Network got regional presenters to cover on BBC One & the News Channel?

Someone texted in to say that they saw Ben Rich covering & asked if he'd moved to the News Channel(At the time he hadn't moved there!).

I texted in, to say that the presenters had been on strike & Ben had covered, but she never read my text out, to answer the other texter.

Is it 'taboo' to mention strikes on air?

Sometimes I wonder why I bother! )

I think it depends on what type of show she is doing. Her weekend shows are supposed to be chilled out so strikes probably aren't the best topic but she can be serious especially when covering weekdays. Either way she's good at connecting with the audience.

WM is definitely in a better situation than it was this time last year.

37, I believe. She mentioned her birthday at least once on air.

As for the Fart Fm reference, check out last Saturday's show on the Iplayer before the end of Friday. It's in the first hour.

(Mind you, I call it Fart meself, when I'm in a naughty mood, plus I call Gold 'Old' too!)

yes Bev is and it is most likey that because of the cut backs Carl Chinn will no long be on

and if it was up to me i would put Molls on a week show and i can not see why wm can not put her when Simon Lederman is on as he will have to travel up from London and wm will have to pay for his travel cost

Not sure if this is common knowledge, but having left WM on after the football, Jimmy Franks mentioned that he is presenting his last show tonight during the opening link of his programme.

From looking at WM's schedules, his Friday slot will be covered by Gareth Evans and Nikki Tapper on the last Friday of 2012 and the first one of 2013 respectively, while on the Friday of the first week of the new BBC Local Radio evening schedule WM will take Colin Young's Trunk of Funk from BBC Radio Shropshire between 10pm-midnight. It seems as if Tracey's Jail Mail will survive in the midnight-2am slot though.

For the longest time I thought that Jail Mail was an Asian show.
I read it as "Jali Mali" basically because I'm stupid and I thought that sounded kinda Asian.
I have since heard it and it truly beggars belief.

You lot make me laugh sometimes. You're the kind of brigade which regularly lines up to slag off Heart or any mainstream station because it's bland and boring, yet when you find a BBC show which serves a real PSB role - albeit quirky and a bit leftfield - you slate that too, and come up with nonsense like "she must have something on the management".
