The X Factor auditions are over and that means only one thing…I must name my Midas Act for the 2012.

My previous X Factor prediction successes include One Direction, Leona Lewis and Cher Lloyd and my eye for spotting up and coming talent, has earned me the nicknames of the ‘New Simon Cowell’ and ‘X Factor’s 5th Judge’…so no pressure then.

This year, I have already predicted the Winner of Britain’s Got Talent (Ashleigh and Pudsey) beating Simon Cowell and the rest of the judges in the process.

So here we go…

The act that I will be supporting throughout this year’s X Factor is…Carolynne Poole.

I loved Carolynne’s first audition and I truly believe she has a fantastic chance of winning this year. She is also a good friend of mine.

Carolynne said this, when I told her the news “Yipeeeeee!!! Awww that’s awesome, thank you!! I’m made up babe, that’s fab!! C xxxx”

In terms of the rest, I really like Lucy Spraggan and Melanie Masson but I think the main threat for Carolynne comes from 16 year old Ella Henderson.

Since 2006 my ‘Midas’ Acts have gone on to make 32 Finals from 36 shows. Fingers crossed that continues in 2012.

Tune into the X Factor on Saturday to see if Carolynne Poole can make it through bootcamp and on to judges houses.

He's so cocky, bigs himself up too much and acts like being called the Midas act is life changing but I do like reading his reviews.

"She's also a good friend of mine" kind of dampens the prediction.

He's a guest writer for TellyMix but he runs an agency which is in charge of a few ex contestants including 2 Shoes and Jonjo and he's Janet's publicist I think?

It's already been said, but "a good friend of mine" doesn't help the article.

Looks like Carolynne will go a long way every contestant he has picked as his Midas Act in past seasons has went a long way in the competition.

TBF, it's not like nobody else is expecting her to do well, I'll be surprised if she doesn't at least make the top half of the live shows provided she gets there of course

Jonjo isn't a Midas act, he manages him. Laura tbf was heavily backed until her exit

Acts I remember him backing include:

One Direction
Leona
Janet Devlin
Ashley and Pudsey in BGT

so he basically backs those who are amongst the favourites at the time

I don't recall Leona being even near the bookies favourites at the end of auditions?

she was definitely a judges' favourite with Simon pimping her right from the start

Ashley,Ben,Ray were defiantly ahead of Leona in the betting along with a few of the boys like Shaun that Simon didn't put through to the live shows.

Lest we forget - King Midas was cursed.

Anyway, Carolynne Poole is OK, just OK. This year, the overs seems to have an embarrassment of riches; especially so if they leave the cut off at 25 as there are a couple of really good 26 year olds. It could all change at Boot Camp, but, as it stands, Carolynne doesn't even deserve to get to Judges Houses.

Carolynne has an amazing voice, not only did she make final in fame academy, she got to judges houses last year and got louis who to be honest doesnt go for the singing talent! I have heard her sing live and have to say her voice is fantastic, i hope she goes all the way she deserves a break, its not like she wouldnt work for it, shes been working for years, i really hope this time she makes it and gets the recognition she deserves

He also backed Bad Lashes in 2008 (lol) and Niki Evans who come a credible 4th.
