Well , continuing the Grange Hill theme , the " Houses" at my school were named after WWII characters , usually do gooder types . One example '

2) Group Captain ( Justin) Leonard Cheshire - rugby

Leonard Cheshire opened lots of children's homes with his wife who was called something Ryder ( not Jesse Ryder the cricketer ) He was also a fighter pilot.

Apolgies for continuing with this , but I did not realise that Sue Ryder was Baroness Ryder of Warsaw until I looked it up just now. I had heard of her in her own right but didn't realise that she was the Ryder of Ryder - Cheshire after which a house at my school was named .

8) Rick ( Peter) Parfitt -cricket

Going back to my school days , there was a House at my junior school called " Saville " House ( Two lls) The Houses were named after local roads. I don't remember Jimmy ever turning up at prize giving, though I'm sure he would have enjoyed dangling little girls on his knee ( alllegedly) when presenting them with prizes
