They always do but sometimes they put extra bits on the DVD release.

How long was the show when you saw it?

About 2 hours excluding the interval I think.

So at only 1 hour 35 minutes and stuffed full of adverts, they have cut out quite a lot!

There's a whole segment they cut out from the first half.

Great show. Just wish he'd stick with his stage shows and not do the awful TV specials, like "predicting" the lottery numbers.

It was good but probably the weakest live show IMO. The 1499 was very very predictable, as soon as he said 'a random 4 digit number' I knew it would be 1499 - not too long before he told the audience this number and said "1499, remember that number".

REALLY enjoyed that! The first half was a little bit flat, but all the balloon stuff was simply amazing. I know its been said many times, but Derren really has amazing showmanship!

Showing an edited version on TV doesn't really do the show justice. I can't see a DVD release of the show yet but I'm sure it will come out sooner or later.

Felt rushed,I saw show in West End and although not as good as previous tours still brilliant. The paintball gun routine should have made the cut too.

I'm also a big fan of Derren's and saw the show in Edinburgh. Hate to say it, but I was a bit disappointed also and thought it was so far his weakest show. Although I have to say, I'm enjoying it much better on tv than I did at the theatre, but I suppose that's good editing

Derren just tweeted

"Hope you enjoyed. There was an hour more in the live show... Sadly chunks cut out for TV timing. Always the way. Thanks for lovely comments."

It's almost as if he's encouraging people to spend money to buy tickets to see him live to get the full experience......... LOL

I do like his tweets, I think he comes across as a really nice bloke I always think at the live shows that if you or someone you knew got chosen from the audience, or if his tricks worked for you, it would be absolutely mind blowing. I also thought at the show I went to, the secrets people had written down were REALLY far fetched but I doubt I was only one in the audience not a stooge haha

Not strictly a spoiler but

Spoiler

I enjoyed the show but didnt think it was his best. I think the trouble is you know what to expect. You dont know how he did the balloon trick but you knew it would work even though je pretended it went wrong.

Id love to see him live and him do a trick on me so i can believe it. I know he picks people randomly by throwing the hoop but i cant help but think theres some way he can control who he picks.

It said after every break no actors or stooges were used but does that have any real legal meaning or can he use stooges but still claim not to?

Pretty cool show. I'm a bit of a skeptic though
I wonder if anesthetic was somehow involved with the needle through the hand? Seems pretty impossible though

I wonder if any trick has actually gone wrong

Is there a way of piercing your hand without it bleeding? Derren put emphasis on the fact the hand didnt bleed to prove it was somehow possessed.

Stooges are definitely not used. There's nothing clever or fun about using stooges.

However...the audience members who end up onstage aren't entirely random, if you think about it. No-one goes up who's not willing or confident enough to go along with Derren's show. Say, for instance, the hoop throwing, nobody would keep hold of the hoop unless they were ready to go on stage. They have gone to the show knowing that they would like to get up there.

Svengali is a decent show but not up with Derren's best IMO. Of course, I've only seen the TV version, so obviously a lot has been cut. The part with the doll looks impressive, though...is it just me or is it so blatant how it's done? There is only one possible way, though I will put it in spoilers in case you want to believe it was real.

Spoiler

The balloons I'm not sure of. I'll have to get back to you on that one...
