She confirmed last night on Twitter that she's currently working on a U.S album!! She has said that when she launches over there she'll be living there for a year, which I'm happy about as I think that's the right thing to do if she really wants to crack the U.S. In terms of music, she worked with lots of top writers and producers for her second album, however when she left Syco, they wouldn't allow the tracks to go with her to the new label which is why her second album isn't exactly what was expected!! She hinted on Twitter last night though that she has these songs back, so maybe they will make up some of the U.S album. Also, last year she recorded a duet with Swiz Beatz called Show Off, however his album might not even be getting released now. Alex revealed on Twitter last night though that she's in the process of getting the track herself! She also said we'll be getting album 3 next year! I'm really excited about what's to come from her. The UK have treated her like crap, so hopefully things will now come together.

My prediction:

She'll flop harder in the US than she did in the UK with her second album.

She's a bitch, I hate her, she can't sing, she's ugly, she's a flop, flopbreak on hold, album bombed, single bombed, arrogant, horrible, rude, stuck up, she's doesn't deserve it, she should be dropped, she's not famous, she's a man, 'xxxx' is better than her....

Did I miss anything

Anyway....I wish her luck she's working with some great producers, but I wouldn't have bothered with this thread tbh, you'll most likely see one or more from the above list posted over and over again....

Very few British artists manage to crack the US. Especially if they didn't even manage to crack the UK first.

I loved Overcome but I have no interest in her current album. From what I've heard it sounds pretty bad. A shame. I thought she had such potential. She probably still does, but needs a good team behind her.

Cher lloyd anyone? She didn't even crack the UK but she's had success in the US.

There's a few artists that managed to have some success in the US pretty much shortly after their mainstream UK careers started. Like Duffy, Jessie J, Conor Maynard, etc.

Estelle is a notable example. She's a British singer, but she had to go to the US to get a record deal, although she ruined her own career after just her first hit (which was massive luckily).

So why then are people saying that Alex hasn't cracked the UK when she has had THREE #1s and the biggest selling debut single by a female artist ever...?

Her debut album barely made it to platinum...a number 1 single is really cracking the UK isn't it.
