From 'Did Lisa get good marks because of her weight?'. A proper little beauty, this one.

At least Lisa hasn't yet played the "real woman" card, though she has said she's doing it for the chubbies.”

Prejudice in favour of larger girls? LMAO! Are you kidding me? You'll need to build a better strawman argument than that. Have you seen the state of modern media when it comes to weight, more specifically, a womans weight? Have you looked around this forum? Endless negative threads about weight. For every positive prejudice you can find, you will find hundreds of zealously hateful 'anti-fatty' attitudes; you'll find thousands more condescending, uninformed, ignorant attitudes.
I was at the doctors surgery recently. Now, whilst I wouldn't normally wipe my arse with those 'celeb gossip' type magazines you find all over doctors receptions, let alone pay money for one, just a quick glance over to the table showed what was a myriad of brain imploding spiteful stupidity. The cover on each and every one of them was filled with nothing but who is getting fat, who had wobbly bits, who looks the fattest, who looks too thin, who lost weight, etc. This trash came complete with close up pictures designed to cause maximum embarrassment. It is finger pointing and snickering on an awful level. It's all the more worrying because its sells! I still can't believe people part with money for that sort of trash.
Me personally, I couldn't give a flying f*ck. Fat, thin, big, small, pink, purple or orange... whatever, none of it really f*cking matters. Someone has to have very little going on in their life, (not to mention their heads) if they feel it's important enough to give a damn about something so ridiculously unimportant. I can understand something not being someones 'cup of tea', but not liking something enough to inspire spite is something else altogether.
And yes, I agree, prejudice, positive or negative cheapens any issue and detracts from any intellectual rigour a particular issue may have. But prejudice in favour of largers girls? Sounds like straw you just clutched at.
If Lisa's weight (or the 'celebration' of it) offends your sense of indignation, then whatever works for you. But don't confuse the praise she is getting as a form of positive prejudice. A lot of people had preconceived notions about her ability because of her weight (negative prejudice). Not only did she dispel them, she did so in the most vivacious, skilful, glamorous, energetic, joyfully delightful way.”
