Probably a good move in hindsight, would have been far more embarrassing losing to Danielle than losing to Ian.
Interview with Britney, who says it was the most bitter jury ever. Seems Dan would have lost whoever he was against. Even a bottle of ketchup!

TheInsider.com: Were you surprised Ian won by so much?
Britney Haynes: I was not surprised. The thing about the jury is it always flips on somebody – this jury was never going to vote for Dan, whether he was up against Danielle or up against Ian. This was the most bitter jury in the history of juries. I am not kidding you, this jury hated Dan so bad. They could have Dan up against a bottle of ketchup and the bottle of ketchup would have won this game. The hatred of Dan was on a whole new level I've never seen. Bitter is an understatement.
Insider.com: So why did you vote for Ian?
Britney: I voted for Ian because I think he played a very good game. We were close in the house and obviously working together. He's a mega fan of the show, has an amazing attitude and was happy to be here every day. Every day in this house has been like a dream for him and winning BB is just making his whole life right now. Not for nothing, Dan played a great game, but he's won this game before. He's got half a mill in the bank and this was Ian's turn. Dan played a phenomenal game, but Ian played a winning game as well.
Insider.com: How did playing this season compare to your first time in the house?
Britney: This time was so much harder. I felt like I was playing so hard, non-stop, all day long, it was difficult. It was so exhausting it kind of made me wonder what I actually did on my season [laughs]. Did I ever make a deal in season 12?!? It was like I'd never played the game before.
Insider.com: Your goodbye to Boogie was a highlight of the season. What went into that bold adieu?
Britney: I think it's so funny ya'll are bringing that up to me because I don't even remember what I said. I didn't plan this extravagant thing, I just rolled in and did a goodbye message like it was no big deal. But it felt good – I knew he was doing those freakin phonecall DR's and I didn't like it, so I decided to do my own.
Insider.com: Finally, Quack Pack -- worst alliance name in reality TV history?
Britney: Quite possibly. It's grown on me because I've heard it so many times. It's like when someone gives their kid a terrible name. At first you're disgusted by it, but eventually you just know that kid as that name after saying it for so long. I've accepted it as The Quack Pack, but is it a bad name? Yea, it's pretty terrible.”
