BBC iPlayer website officially works on Jelly Bean now!

For those who can use google it's been working from day one of course!

But that's it officially working now. You have to download a plugin called BBC Media player

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...id.mediaplayer

Wish they did BBC HD on tablets though. The Nexus 7 is crying out for it!

Good spot.

It actually looks fake but it isn't.

Today the BBC's mobile technical teams have begun rolling out a new way of securely playing video and audio content on Android phones and tablets. It's called BBC Media Player and we are starting to use it with the mobile view of the BBC's iPlayer website. Next week we plan to release a new version of BBC iPlayer on Android which will use this player. Other applications and websites will follow.

I installed the app yesterday and it works well, but the quality is ridiculously bad. Hopefully the new iPlayer app will sort out the issue of picture quality.

I just don't understand why we need a separate app to allow the iPlayer app to function. Roll it all into one. This is clearly the BBC's version of Adobe Air.

,,, and unofficially it DOESN'T work on many other android devices. Lots of complaints here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/bbcintern...phones_ta.html.
