I've just updated my iPhone 4S and ipad to ios6.

However, I'm a little confused as after I updated my ipad, I then got the message on my iphone

Phone Number Added To ipad
Ipad is now using (my mob number) for FaceTime and iMessage.

Is this going to incur further costs anyway? My ipad is just wifi only

I'm confused

Hi,

Its because iMessage can now receive messages sent to your mobile number. The number is just used as an identifier and it doesn't send any data via the mobile network. No charges will be incurred.

Another question.... my Ipad2 says the update needs 2.2gb of space...if I download the update do I literally lose 2.2gb of space then or does it just install over the current OS so I won't lose too much??

Thanks

I think it needs 2 gigs as a save buffer for the new update which will then overwrite the old OS space.

Yeah. The actual update itself is not that big, it just needs room to unpack.

Here's one for any of you that may know...

How do I do Home Sharing on my iPad (3rd Generation, with iOS 6 - only had it on Wednesday ).

I've set up Home Sharing on my iTunes and iPhone/iPod Touch (been using it for a while now). However, when I go into the 'Music' section on the iPad, I can't find where to go to share the stuff on my laptop. On the iPhone, you tap the 'More' tab, and tap 'Shared'.

I've entered the relevant information into the 'Settings' bits (the same as you do with the other iDevices), but I can't get any joy.

Any clues? Am I being daft here?

After a third time of rebooting my iPad, it now seems to be working. Odd...

I'm getting sync problems on my iPhone since updating 64 bit win 7 iTunes to 10.7, I get Windows warnings unable to sync device yet the sync actually does happen - iPhone 4 and iPad 3 were yet to be updated , I have now updated both to iOS 6 and I'm hoping when I get "back to base" that may resolve the problem
