I am barely hanging on with BB:Au and increasingly resentful of the limited highly edited version we are getting; I cannot be bothered to watch any of the videos that get uploaded to YouTube. I enjoyed season 8 (hated the winner) so much I was was prepared to pay for live feed if necessary when it returned. Perhaps my time following BB is coming to an end, not a bad thing.”

The shows are produced to secure ratings (and ad revenues) not necessarily to reflect reality, so I don't really gripe too much about any disparities. What concerns me about stricter enforcement of copyright on youtube etc is the denial of voluntary enthusiasm of avid fans and effectively rendering all recent HG's invisible. Players like Dr Will, Dan and Janelle et al have sustained their legendary status in the "BB community" because enough of their game play and antics have been enshrined on youtube etc for each new generation of viewers/enthusiasts to see. How can anyone from BB12 onwards ever be considered potential All Stars, if no one can even remember them? If CBS itself is treating the HG's as entirely disposable assets, why shouldn't the viewers?
By attempting to drip feed fans only through "authorised" channels, CBS is effectively choking the very enthusiasm that they are seeking to control and presumably profit from. By weakening the commitment of the fanbase, I fear CBS is ultimately making their show more easily disposable too. Is this their intent? Have they bought into the "casual viewer" argument propounded by the likes of C5 UK?
For me, BB is mindless pap, without the wider context of the LF. I've simply (and all too easily) given up on BBUK and BBAus. Witnessing the increasing (and largely unjustified) cuts to the BBUSA LF, I really fear the writing is on the wall for them too.....

How odd?
