Series 7 the "HO!" was Kristina and Joe - http://youtu.be/IhHvxliQ38g

Series 8, the "HO!" coincided with Anne Widdecombe - http://youtu.be/1_eUU86LTnQ

Series 9, the "HO!" just happened to meet up with Nancy - http://youtu.be/IhHvxliQ38g

So will be the 2012 HO! ?

Guesses please - don't phone in, it's just for fun

And series 5's "HO!" was Brian Capron.

I'll say Lisa Riley.

What about the previous four series'?

I think Fern Britton.

EDIT: I don't think they had hos for the first few series'.

I think I'm right in saying that they cunningly removed the 'Ho!' from the last series, which didn't fool any of us, because we know where it should have been and dutifully awarded 'ho' status to Nancy (natch). Edit: no, it IS there - blame it on my failing hearing...

This year, they are attempting to drown the 'ho' with lyrics (God help us) but it won't work - we STILL know where it is and will be watching with eagle eye and baited breath and any other cliché I can come up with before 5th October.

I'm betting on Richard.

It's easier to guess who will be at the end lol

^^ That guess is either Dani & Vincent or Louis & Flavia

"Ho!" - Jerry Hall

Here's one thing though, the top 6 or so tend to be closely grouped together (ie one after another) - that's happened for the last 2 years lol.

In series 5 the 'Ho' was just as Brian merged into Dom Littlewood so I prefer to think that it was aimed at the latter.

I've got a vague feeling that Jan Ravens may have been the series 4 'Ho' but I can't find a clip to confirm it at the moment.

ETA- Found the series 2 opening but the music was very slightly different & had no 'Ho'

Esther Rantzen appears at the point that it would normally occur though

Ramps was the Series 4 ho, leading into Jimmy Tarbuck. I prefer to think of Jimmy as the ho.

I'm a bit confused, what exactly do you mean by ho

Yeah, just found it. Jan was the last celeb on the titles which must be why she stuck in my mind.

Given the revelations about his private life during the series, it seems quite apt that Ramps got the 'Ho'

There's a part in the theme tune where you can hear them shout "ho!", it's just after halfway through the opening credits:

I'll try and describe, it's this bit:

"dah dah HO! doo de doo de doo, dahdahdahdahdahddahdahdahdah dah dah dah dah"

If the opening credits are in the same order as the promo pics then Richard may be getting the ho.

I don't want Richard to get the ho. He is far too classy for the ho. Please can the ho go to someone else

I don't think Erin would stand for being the 'Ho!' - imagine the fireworks and hard stares!

Thank you. Panic over

Thought it must have been a mistake. There is no way Richard could ever be the ho.

I have a feeling they will make Michael Vaughan the ho this year.... (not sure why but he has been banded about as one of the best known celebs).

I thought it had been reported that the butchered music for the opening number in the launch show was just that... and things would be reverting to the usual iconic number (including the HO) for the main series?

I don't know about returning to the old tune (perhaps they've got a new one and we haven't heard it), but on the BBC site it says:
Quote:
“Listen to a snippet of the Strictly Premiere theme tune, which will be used for just ONE NIGHT ONLY on Saturday 15th September!”

so here's hope for the old Ho! yet.

Let's face it, it's like the new Fat Daleks they introduced in Doctor Who a couple of years ago.

It must have seemed like a good idea to someone, but then they realised it was stupid and put the old ones back with a retcon to say "Oh, we never meant for the new ones to be official, they were just a once-off. Ummm. Really."

Something like that.
