iPhone 5 sim free availability

iPhone 5 came out today, all the crazy queuers got there phones today. What about the rest of us looking for a sim free iPhone 5? What are the options, does anyone know whether Apple stores in Trafford centre and arndale in manchester are likely to get more stock in every day?

Doing this, think i will probably be on hold all day! Only option will be to go in store which would be a wasted journey if out of stock.

Not in Glasgow and Aberdeen they aren't!

2 of my pals managed to pick some up today from both stores.

Also the O2 shops i visited yesterday at 4pm-ish had barely sold 5 between them!

Don't believe O2 sell sim free though. Good news is, they're taking reservations online at apple store.

No they dont.

Im guessing though, you could just walk into an apple shop and buy one. I dont think they are close to being sold out.

Also beware of the scuffs on the phone out the box. Seems to be a huge problem. Ask to see the phone first and examine the edges closely.

How many times did you try reserving before you finally got one? Also which colour and size and which store? Tried over 10 times for black 32gb to no success in Manchester.

Have you checked Carphone Warehouse online? I got mine from them last week. Ordered Monday, delivered Wednesday.

I went in CPW yesterday and they said they don't sell it SIM free. Seemed like a lie.

They're no longer listing it SIM free on their website, so it's possible they're keeping stock for contract customers until supply improves.

Plus, their 'SIM free' iPhones are actually from contract stock and will lock to the network they are activated on.

I know, that's how I felt, which is why I checked CPW. Looks like I got lucky though as they've taken the SIM free option off there now.

Online reservation system closed again today. The Apple Store staff look at me like I'm crazy when I ask if they have them in stock. Looks like no way of getting one SIM free just at the moment.

Is it worth buying from Carphone Warehouse? I notice you can buy sim free via there website now. I guess the phones are unlocked and fine to use on PAYG?
