Yes, that's what came to mind. I've never heard of the other thing.

I missed this last night but would have loved to see it. Too far South.

Sometimes I wonder whether some night sky occurrence like this with no prior notice, we should watch with one eye covered - bearing in mind what happened in Day of the Triffids!

It's well known that the so-called volcanic ash scare was really the powers that be shutting down UK airspace to contain a zombie outbreak. Probably in Scotland.

So, I'm prepared to believe anything relating to the meteor shower. Though as has been pointed out I'd be more expecting the UK to wake up blind. I'm in KL now and have FaceTimed friends already today so know that didn't happen
