Will Young...So underrated, his music is very good
Just listening to a Will Young CD Echos, I never really rated him as I thought he wasnt that good in X Factor, but my god he is very very good and I reccomend listening to his music.
Just shows X Factor isnt all its cracked up to be. |

He was in Pop Idol love.
I like some songs, Jealousy and Your Game being the only ones really, he's quite dull and boring imo |

I cant bear him or his voice, so arrogant and smug. Without the x factor he would still be singing into his hairbrush.

He's talented but I don't really listen to his music. My folks have most of his albums though. His best song is Your Game, with Leave Right Now also a decent track.
Very surprised but pleased for him he's been around for 10 years now. I don't think any of the X Factor winners (bar maybe Leona) will still be going 10 years after they won the show. |

He's in a run of Cabaret at the moment, touring provincial theatres, getting rave reviews, then the West End (Savoy Theatre) as from the 1st week October. |

I really amazes me that people forget so quickly that Will won Pop Idol - a much better programme than X-Factor. He is great in Cabaret and, like other people in this thread, I like Your Game best.

I don't think Will's at all smug??
I do think he is under-rated though. My favourites of his are Grace, Your Game and Jealousy. His latest Album Echoes is his best, he just keeps developing and growing as a recording artist. He's doing really well in Cabaret, getting magnificent reviews so far. |

His Echoes album was stunning. Will did what most people have failed to do. He jumped on the dance scene but he did something stunning. Trip Pop mixed with so many different styles of dance.

I was never into his early music but ECHOES is a fantastic album from start to finish. Very grown up and full of a few surprises..

I preferred his earlier work such as Your Game, All Time Love, and a lot of the album tracks which are never heard on radio. I was not keen on Echoes - not my cup of tea at all. But, of course, I am much older than most of his fans so cannot get into "dance" music, even if it is stunning!

Completely agree. Every Will Young album is amazing. Seriously under-rated. He should be bigger than Robbie.

Unfortunately, he doesn't get played on some of the big radio stations, including Radio1 and Capital
Fortunately, he has managed to sell 500,000 of his Echoes album without full exposure, and that is due to the fact that he has a fantastic voice - full stop How would those sales fare WITH full exposure - the mind boggles![]() Will is also classed as Singer/Songwriter/Actor, so after 10 years in the 'business' and now having the lead role in the wonderful show "Cabaret" with critics having nothing but praise for him, I would think he's he's anything but seriously under-rated

never really cared much for him but had the urge to download Jealousy yesterday after seeing that clip on his Cabaret TV plug recently. Think I will have to get me a copy of Echoes.

I miss Pop Idol...oh what a shock it was when he stuck up for himself against Simon Cowell....remember Ant and Dec and the other contestants in the other room cheering him on and Simon Cowell eating humble pie. ![]() Back when it wasn't 'staged' and all pantomime. |

Hes not quite my cup of tea, but, the one thing that sets him apart from all the other pop idol/x factor contestants/winners, is his genuine interest in music. He comes across as someone who really wants to perfect his craft & who is interested in music rather than someone who just wants quick fame. And, hes intelligent.

Leave Right Now was the last song played on Nick Grimshaws radio1 breakfast show this morning, Professor Green requested it as it's his favourite song.

I dont see why anyone thinks he is under rated. Like many other stars Will is around for a while now and isnt 21 anymore and radio stations in general are pulling away from established artists who arent 21 anymore, sad but true and i dont agree with it.
Will has achieved major success and still manages to sell albums in decent numbers, his tours do well and every now and again he achives a big hit single so i dont see why he is under rated. He has come a long way since pop idol, has proved the critics wrong and is still a relevant artist, what more could he ask for. |
