Laptop Wi-Fi Help Wanted!!
I have just returned back from the USA where I purchased a laptop along with a Wi-Fi dongle(check out www.clear.com ), but obviously this will not work over here, so I purchased an 02 Wi-Fi mobile broadband dongle from Amazon, but the SIM card is not included, so I have been checking on the 02 website to find which SIM card would be suitable for Wi-Fi usage on my laptop and I cant find any which would be suitable!!
Can anyone suggest which SIM card would I need for the 02 dongle??? Thanks!! By the way, they dont use SIM Cards in the USA!! Much simpler than here!!! |

I'm guessing it's something like the 3 Mi-Fi unit that you're picked up?
It wouldn't be a WiFi O2 sim you wanted, it would just be a SIM card that gives you mobile internet access... so you just need to get a SIM that gives you a decent amount of data allowance per month and put it in your dongle. They do use SIM cards in the US... ETA: Did you look at these, if it has to be O2? http://www.o2.co.uk/broadband/mobile...pocket-hotspot |

They might be embedded SIMs meaning you, the consumer, don't have access to them but they're still there.
From reading up on the O2 website, you might just be able to add data to your dongle through the O2 website as it reads like both their dongle and pocket hotspot devices have embedded SIMs... Depends on which unit you have, though. Still, it's worth checking out the site to see their SIM only data plans and working out which is best for you. |

Did you see this one, cheaper direct from O2: http://www.o2.co.uk/broadband/mobile...band/o2-dongle
The one you ordered might very well need a SIM from O2 so, again, check out the O2 site and see which is best for you... |

Points of clarification:
3G/4G dongles are not 'WiFi' of any description. In the USA, Verizon and Sprint use CDMA (no SIM card) and AT&T and T-Mobile use SIM cards. |
