In two minds about Jahmene's second chance
Whilst it's good that he got a second chance as he wasn't comfortable with the song choice he had to perform, surely it's unfair on the others that someone who made an absolutely mess of their performance got through based on their audition. What is the point of them even performing at bootcamp if someone is given a chance because their audition was good. Tasha Leigh for example was much better at her song than Jahmene at his yet because her audition wasn't stand-out, she got cut?
Do you agree with him being given a chance based on his audition? |

Completely agree : messing up your bootcamp performance should be enough to see you eliminated.
But the strong suspicion is that the producers have already decided who will progress in bootcamp even before it gets underway and it is therefore a sham event, |

Yeah. The audition is the first impression, and it showed his pipes, they know what he's capable of.

Yes but surely if that's the case, then they could use his audition to justify him being given numerous chances if he were to mess up again?

The problem with X-Factor is that basically you're auditioning to be a puppet, & sing songs that others have written, which may not be your niche - that's why you need to be versatile. Artists who write their own songs & are in charge of their own careers, don't have this problem because they know what their voices are suited to & that's the only material that they perform.

Might as well let them just skip the group performance then and let them straight through to the next stage. |

This is why I believe that bootcamp is biased towards those who can sing certain chosen songs. The judges knew what Jahmene's singing style was, yet expected that he'd be able to perform Moves Like Jagger in the way they wanted. Do they ever ask any auditionee to sing Jahmene's style of song? it only goes to show that it's not about the voice, but the image.

Just watched him sing online, it was a completely obtrusive reversal of fortune compared with his original audition. He'll need to redeem himself after that performance, hence it was outstandingly bad.

I can't see how he can get far in the competition, he has a good voice, but is limited in what kind of songs he can perform and has zero charisma. Would have been better to let him go

He's the winning act for me so far. I still think he is the chosen one this year.

![]() No point him being there if they're going to allow him to continue regardless of how he performs. |
