Just seen the video for Shawn Mullins and Lullaby on the Vault and remembered that for a long time i used to think it was U2. Very similair in the chorus.

Who have you mistaken for someone else and on what song.

For a long time I thought Take Your Mama by the Scissor Sisters was a new Elton John track

For a while I thought the song 'Break out' by 'Swing out sister' was Debbie Harry!.
and I was also convinced for a while that the song 'Betty Davies eyes' was Rod stewart.

Funny you should say that. Until I knew otherwise I always thought the SS track 'Mary' was sung by Elton John.

I was listening to the Dears' album, "No Cities Left" and my wife came in and said "Is that Blur?"

Me too gashead!
- I hadn't thought that with their previous singles before but taken together with exilis's observation and thinking about it, Scissor Sisters are quite Elton-ish

In certain parts of Radio - I thought I was listening to David Bowie, rather than Robbie Williams - but I think that's sort of intentional, or at least it's probably the Gary Numan influence

When I first listened to Resolution on Darius's new album - I thought I was listening to the Crash Test Dummies

I always think the Scissor Sisters sound like Elton John (same tracks as mentioned above).
