the trouble is with the X factor is they cannot sell a dream anymore...
for whatever reason ( and I am sure peeps will have an opionin on this)
the show for many years has not delivered on the winners the GBP like the dream to come to true.. they may not buy the music but they want the sucess in real life..humm

Youre right. It doesnt sell the dream.

I think especially with Simon gone as well. It used to be such an effort to impress grumpy Cowell. No-one really gives a hoot what Gary Barlow thinks about their singing.

Plus I suppose it used to be a dream of becoming a famous pop singer. Well in the early days pop singers were ten-a-penny (2004 etc). Now dance controls the charts that dream's less sellable, added to teh fact that none of the winners of XF have gone on to any kind of longterm success nor do the management company or record label appear to have put any real effort into helping them further their careers.

Instead of a big prize its now just a platform.

I know! Isn't it glorious? Maybe this'll be the first nail in the coffin for talent shows. One can only hope

I think they should just give the winner a big pay check and say good on you and let them go there own way..would be novel..you cannot sell the dream if it not reality ..there has been too many years of endless discussion of why the GBP vote for who they do...you cannot change it you.. just have to accept it..but it will be the death nell of the X factor for sure.. its already starting to happen.

what and let simon miss out on the millions made from bands such as one direction, yep jedward.. jls... leona lewis etc? not a chance.. and also its a record deal to the winner.. so in reality simon owns the record company so guessing he dosnt pay a penny out!!

The simple problem is the majority of the voting GBP dont sit down watch the show and go to themselfs right who's music would i buy once the show is over but instead for whatever reason they tend vote on other factors and i dont no what could be done to change that

I am actually talking about the reality of the show..of course there are contracts in place to sign whoever whatever is marketable and money to be made ..SC sleeps well at night (i presume>>joke before i get critic)....but a big but for the average Reality tv viewer is you cannot sell the dream unless its real.. and its not real anymore do you divorce the music from the show and make it more reality tv or do you bring back the music and worry about after show sucess ..no win situation

What about Leona Lewis? She accomplished the major feat of reaching #1 in the US and then...and then...and then they forgot about her!

I truly hope so.

This last year has been dire with about 2 to 3 acts filling up an hour show and the rest about the noneity judges that we couldn't give a fig about.

So X Factor.............RIP!

Perhaps not winners, but JLS are doing well, so are Wand Errection and Little Mix seem to have had a pretty decent start. Cher Lloyd is painfully carving out a career, Joe McElderry also is doing fine and Jedward seem to have proved they have some amount of staying power.

I really think the judges need to change. Bringing in young girls to get an audience is not working, Tulisa needs the boot just not a likable person. Why are the public not voting for who they think should go to judges houses? That would be much more better. Louise Walsh and Tulisa needs out, and Gary thinks he is Simon.

ratings say its lost its sparkle..
viewers dont seem to like the judging panel... as a whole..
dosnt seem to gain as much colum inches as years gone by...
facebook dosnt seem to talk about it anymore.. well not in my friends list anyway..

now seems to be about personalty and sob story.. not performance..

It seems to be reality though for One Direction, Cher Lloyd, Rebecca Ferguson, Joe McElderry, Jedward--all young people who are making successes of their careers that they would likely not even have without X Factor.

Really don't see your point tbh.
