50th Plans?
Hi All,
Anyone seen any articles or anything for the 50th? I hope they don't mess it up? Got a feeling David Tennant and Billie Piper will be returning but a part from that I can't imagine they will do much. |

I'm not sure whether DT and BP will come back, and to be honest, I'm not sure if I want BP to come back. Her character grated on me from series two - and even more when she returned... |

I didn't like how RTD wrote BP season two onwards.
Returnees, The Mmaster, Davros, Rassilon. It being Moffat no doubt the Ponds and, as guest irritation, River Song |

I am expecting to see at least one other Doctor as it will be celebrating 50 years of Doctor Who personally I would prefer one of the classic series

I guess we will see DT, BP and JB at the very least. Hopefully we will get to see a few of the classic Doctors and companions too.
iirc MS has said he would like BP to make a return, as they are real life friends. Plus BP & MS had really good on screen chemistry when they worked together before, so I think it would be a delight to see. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qE8ExoOcsW4 |

I would love to see old faces, Tom Baker, Paul McGann. But I just have this bad feeling it will be DT and BP!

I think/hope it will be something brilliant and original and yet will respect the show's long history. I hope it will not be anything anyone has suggested here. Multi-Doctor stories have soooo been done before.

If they don't have a multi Doctor story I do hope we get some references to past Doctors for example The Doctor could be looking through his wardrobe and pull out a really long scarf

The best idea IMO is one I read on GB -- they should have Ian make an appearance, and 11 could call him Chatterton or Chesterfield

I am sure that the 50th anniversary plans will be well executed.... in 2055.
Of course, if the intent is to celebrate 50 production years, then this would include 1963-89 plus the 1999 movie plus the incoherent revised series from 2005.... hence the 50th anniversary should appear in 2039. |

The intent is to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who.
an·ni·ver·sa·ry; n. pl. an·ni·ver·sa·ries 1. The annually recurring date of a past event, especially one of historical, national, or personal importance. 2. A celebration commemorating such a date. |

![]() Unlike most people i am less keen on seeing returning characters and more keen on seeing some companions we haven't seen for a long while, so I do like the idea in theory though! And I guess they could just ignore the comment rather like we all ignore the "half human" thing....

They could easily explain that he and Barbara aged slower than they should (with the rumour exaggerating it to not aging at all) up till the 1980's for example and then started aging normally(or even faster than normal). |

If you only like the original series, then you should be excited about it being 50 years since its first episode. |

Please, you are wrong - of that there is absolutely no debate, you are flat-out wrong - so just push off, and stop posting this inane comment. It's not clever, it's certainly not funny, and it's definitely not right. If you can't comprehend the meaning of 'anniversary' (that ea91 was kind enough to provide), then I would stop making idiotic posts if I were you. |
