John Wilding

Commiserations SD, I don't know if it was the controversy or something else that put the voters off, but I genuinely liked the songs you'd picked for him tonight. Just thought I'd throw it out there, even if I'm supposed to be impartial.

On the other hand, congratulations Kevin, you're not the first mentor to lose all of his acts. We'll be seeing Michelle in the semifinal!

Congradulations to Michelle and Miss Fitz. Can't believe that John is gone, I was expecting a much different result

Awww, commiserations to John Wilding, I thought he was gonna steal it tonight...but well done to Michelle.

So now, we all have one act left, so one of us is not gonna make the final.

It looks like we have a level playing field again, as each of the judges now has only one shot left at winning the competition. However, this also means that one mentor will bite the dust next show!

Now, I'm sure you're all eager to find out what the themes are?

I do and I hope they're more easier and less controversial.

Yes please

All right, let's find out then.

Theme #1: Mash-Ups

A relatively simple theme that has appeared in many games before showing up here, but the reason for it being used often is because it's a great theme!

Basically, you can pick any (cover of a) song by any artist as long as you either create a mash-up from two different songs by two different artists or get a ready-made one (on which the two different songs and two different artists rule still applies).

Theme #2: Celebrity Duet

As the final is filled with a really great combination of themes, I've had to move this one back one show. In hindsight I'm glad I decided to do this as it just seems fitting at this point in the competition.

For this theme, covers are NOT allowed. Aside from that, you can pick any song from any artist that's still alive (bands can reform for this one), as your act will be performing the song WITH the original artist.

Easy and controversy-free enough for you?

I'm rubbish at mash-ups...so that's me out of the final then.
