Come on, don't let inconvenient reality get in the way.

And why do her haters have to be so darned offensive about it? I really can't think she vexes you any more than the umpteenth vacuous fake American vexes me.”

Got nothing against the girl its just that's she's a BGT artist not an X-Factor contestant.

And tonight, Lucy Spraggen is ..... a poor man's Lily Allen.

Why did Gary say she was unique, we've already got a Lily Allen.

According to her, she can't sing without a guitar, so what's she going to do every week if she gets to the lives? Speak-sing her own compositions with her guitar? She's really going to struggle when it comes to singing different songs from different genres/artists every week.

I wouldn't say she's garbage, but she's not suitable for The X Factor. Not on what we've seen so far anyway.

snort!

Cant wait to see her try any category other than her own. Then we can sit back and be annoyed every week when she scrapes through.

If you don't think Lucy is a good artist I don't think you know anything about music. She makes great meaningful songs and her vocals are like Kate Nash who was considered a good singer.

Oh dear. Just because you don't like her doesn't mean she's garbage. Lucy's a natural. A clever and talented song writer and her singing style reminds me of Kate Nash. She's already popular and that bit different. Something XFactor badly needs right now to shake things up a bit.

Agreed. You don't have to like someone to realise that they are good. That guy with the glasses and the one who wears earrings aren't my kind of thing but I still know they are good. Some people don't seem to be able to tell if an act is good if they don't like it

This is exactly it - she's good doing her own stuff but can you imagine her on ABBA week

I really like her.

But I do not think she is right for this show. At all.

Good artist...not for this show though!!

She's crap. I eagerly await the trainwreck that will be her in the final 12 if it happens. Nice lyrics, listenable music, but basically a novelty act at this point.

She will struggle with theme weeks but when I saw her at Manchester she had 2 standing ovations and was asked by the audience for another song. Then a standing ovation at boot camp. She is brill song writer. I'm a fan

I don't like her that much, too depressing

I don't think anyone's denying she's talented, but XF isn't a 'talent' show per se. It's a singing content, no more, no less, and in theory you have to be able to sing well to win, and she can't. XF is about the singer, not the song. She should head over to the BGT stage.

Meaningful songs

That's the funniest thing I've heard in a while.

I guess you either love her or hate her? They want everyone to love her though. They want to turn her into a cash-cow.”

Well that's the point isn't it - I'm not keen on the perma tanned bloke, but I guess some people will love him. Thing about Lucy is that she's a songwriter. I like her, I accept not everyone will, but it doesn't make her untalented because some people don't rate her.

I'm fine with people expressing opinions they don't like her, I can objectively see why someone wouldn't, but when people say she's not talented (Which many people seem to be denying) I just have to laugh and ask "seriously?"

And honestly, I think she can sing very well. She's never going to be a belter, she'll probably never even be that diverse. She's a niche act not everyone's going to like. But I think what she does do singing, she does beautifully. And I think the people who do like her, will really really like her even if she does end up doing the same thing each week.

Who's said this? Cardiff Singer of the World is a singing contest, no more, no less. I've always understood X Factor to be a weekend entertainment show that's about finding singers who appeal to a wide audience, performers who can sell recordings and fill venues. She's already shown more potential to do both than half the acts who've ever reached the lives.

I think she's great and look forward to seeing her performances. Her style reminds me of Lily Allen.
